A method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition includes: (1) a step of dynamically vulcanizing 50 to 90% by weight of (A) an oil-extended ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin-based copolymerized rubber and 10 to 50% by weight of (B) a propylene-based resin, where the total amount of the oil-extended ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin-based copolymerized rubber (A) and the propylene-based resin (B) is taken as 100% by weight, in the presence of a crosslinking agent, thereby obtaining a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein the oil-extended ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin-based copolymerized rubber (A) contains 100 parts by weight of an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin-based copolymer rubber having a Mooney viscosity (ML100&#xb0; C.) of 150 to 350 at 100&#xb0; C. and 20 to 150 parts by weight of a mineral oil-based softening agent, and (2) a step of kneading 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic elastomer and 15 to 120 parts by weight of (C) an ethylene-based copolymer containing unsaturated carboxylic acid units, thereby obtaining the thermoplastic elastomer composition.

Method for producing thermoplastic elastomer composition, and method for producing composite article

A flame-retardant thermoplastic elastomer composition is provided to produce a molded article possessing mechanical properties, flame retardancy and softness inherently possessed by a molted article obtained from a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing a mineral oil-based softening agent and a flame retardant and fails to stain a mold after injection molding. A production method includes step (1) obtaining a thermoplastic elastomer composition by dynamically crosslinking a polymer mixture (A) containing an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin-based copolymer rubber (A1) and a propylene-based polymer (A2) in the presence of a mineral oil-based softening agent (C) and a crosslinking agent (D), and step (2) kneading the thermoplastic elastomer composition, a halogen-free flame retardant (E), zinc oxide (F), and a thermoplastic resin with a polar group (G). The amounts of the components satisfy condition (p) when starting the dynamic crosslinking in step (1) and satisfy condition (q) when starting the kneading in step (2), respectively.

Method for producing flame-retardant thermoplastic elastomer composition

Disclosed is a method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition, the method comprising subjecting components (A), (B), (C), and (D) to dynamic thermal treatment in a melt-kneading apparatus, wherein the component (A) is an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin based copolymer rubber, the component (B) is a polyolefin resin, the component (C) is a liquid in which an alkylphenol resin has been dispersed and/or dissolved in a mineral oil, and the component (D) is a metal halide.

The present invention provides a composite molded article and a method for producing the same. The composite molded article comprises a molded article of an olefin thermoplastic elastomer (A) and a molded article of an olefin thermoplastic elastomer (B) fused to each other, wherein the olefin thermoplastic elastomer molded article (A) contains an olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition (A') having less than 5% by weight of a cyclohexane-soluble(s) and less than 35% of a compression set (JIS K6262, 70&#xb0; C., 22 hours), and the olefin thermoplastic elastomer molded article (B) contains an olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition (B&#x2032;) obtained by blending 100 parts by weight of an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin/non-conjugated diene copolymer rubber (b-1) containing 6 to 15 wt % of a non-conjugated diene unit, with 40 to 150 parts by weight of a mineral oil softener (b-2), 5 to 150 parts by weight of an olefin resin (b-3), and 0.01 to 20 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent (b-4) and subsequent dynamic heat treatment thereof.

C. for 30 minutes while applying shear deformation using a Brabender mixer.

Process for producing graft polymer

A graft polymer wherein an iodine-containing fluororubber has been grafted on an ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer can be obtained by mixing 30 parts by weight of an iodine-containing fluororubber (a vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene copolymer containing iodine) and 70 parts by weight of an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber at 180.degree. C. for 30 minutes while applying shear deformation using a Brabender mixer.

A rubber composition is disclosed, comprising (a) 100 parts by weight of a synthetic rubber and (b) from 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of an alkylene oxide adduct of a saponified ethylene-saturated carboxylic acid vinyl ester copolymer. The rubbber composition can provide a vulcanized rubber composition which can retain its excellent appearance over a prolonged period of time because of freedom from blooming, has excellent antistatic performance due to its electrical conductivity, can be colored in various tints including white, and also has excellent properties in terms of tensile strength and specific gravity.
