A carbonless pressure-sensitive copying paper which uses a solvent free of an unpleasant odor and friendly to environments and is excellent in color formability and image keeping properties, the copying paper having a layer containing microcapsules enclosing a color former dissolved in a solvent, the solvent being a middle-length-chain triglyceride (MCT), the color former being an indolylazaphthalide compound or a fluoran compound having a trifluoromethylanilino group, the color former further containing a color former different in kind, the solvent further containing a specific fatty acid ester solvent in combination with the MCT, and the color developer being an inorganic color developer, preferably a simi-synthetic solid acid.

The present invention is concerned with a thermal delayed tack composition which is non-adhesive at ordinary temperatures but can be activated and tackified when heated and can maintain its tackiness for a long period of time even after separated from a heat source, and thermal delayed tack sheets prepared by coating basic sheets with this thermal delayed tack composition and then drying the same. The thermal delayed tack sheets have the features that even when they are wound into a roll or superimposed upon each other, no blocking or sticking occurs, and that the tackiness thereof can be maintained for a long period of time even upon a plastic material such as for example polyethylene having low polarity. The aforesaid thermal delayed tack composition comprises an aqueous resin dispersion containing, as fundamental components, solid components of (a) 100 parts by weight of a polymer resin containing 1% by weight or more of carboxylic acid-modified polyethylene, (b) 10 to 120 parts by weight of a tackifier, and (c) 50 to 300 parts by weight of a solid plasticizer. Furthermore, the aforesaid thermal delayed tack sheets may be prepared by aqueously coating the basic sheets with the above-mentioned composition and then drying the same.

Thermal delayed tack sheets prepared by coating base sheets with a thermal delayed tack composition basically containing an adhesive polymer (A) and a solid plasticizer (B), and preferably further containing a tackifier (C), the thermal delayed tack sheets being characterized in that the solid plasticizer comprises fine particles of one or more selected from the compounds represented by the following general formula (I):

Thermal delayed tack sheet prepared by coating a base sheet with a thermal delayed tack composition containing an adhesive polymer, a solid plasticizer, and preferably a tackifier, which plasticizers are fine particle solid compound(s) at room temperature.

When a transferred image is formed on a plain paper by the use of a colorless backcarbon paper coated with an alcohol-based flexographic ink composed essentially of (A) microcapsules whose core substance is an oil droplet containing an electron-donating organic color former, (B) microcapsules whose core substance is an oil droplet containing an electron-accepting organic color developer, (C) a binder resin and (D) a solvent composed mainly of a lower alcohol of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, the density of the transferred image is improved by adding an appropriate amount of a wax to the core substance(s) of either or both of the above microcapsules (A) and (B).

Alcohol-based flexographic ink for use in backcarbon papers

A color-developing ink containing at least one color developer selected from the group consisting of phenolic resins, aromatic carboxylic acids and metal salts thereof as well as a higher chain ether having total carbon atoms of 10 to 40, has various advantages such as the density of the developed image is high, fading of the developed image with time is at a low level, blurring of the developed letters is also at a low level, there is no abnormal tinting by the developed image, there is no swell of rubber rolls of a printer, and printability on a printer is excellent.
