The present disclosure relates to an organic electroluminescence element including: a substrate having a light transmissive property; a light diffusion layer; a light transmissive electrode; a light reflective electrode; and multiple light emitting layers spaced from each other. With regard to the m-th light emitting layer being the m-th closest light emitting layer to the light reflective electrode, relations defined by following expressions (2) and (3) are satisfied. In the following expressions, &#x3bb;represents the weighted average emission wavelength, &#xd8;(&#x3bb;) represents the phase shift, n(&#x3bb;) represents the average refractive index of a medium filling a space between the light reflective electrode and the m-th light emitting layer, and drepresents the distance from the light reflective electrode to the m-th light emitting layer. l is an integer equal to or more than 0. 

Organic electroluminescence element and lighting device using same

The organic electroluminescent element has a transparent substrate, a transparent first electrode, an organic layer, a second electrode, and a light-outcoupling layer. The light-outcoupling layer is formed between the transparent substrate and the first electrode. The first electrode, the organic layer and the second electrode constitute an electroluminescent laminate. A covering substrate facing the transparent substrate is adhered to the surface of the transparent substrate via an adhesive sealing portion surrounding the periphery of the electroluminescent laminate. A connection electrode extending outward from inside a surrounded region where the electroluminescent laminate is covered with the covering substrate is formed at least on the surface of the light-outcoupling layer. The average thickness of the light-outcoupling layer in an adhesion region where the adhesive sealing portion is formed is smaller than the thickness in the central region where the electroluminescent laminate is formed.

Organic electroluminescent element

A composite substrate includes a moisture-proof substrate, and a resin substrate pasted on a surface of the moisture-proof substrate. The resin substrate is formed to be smaller than the moisture-proof substrate in planar view. An end side of the resin substrate is an inclined face that is inclined inward. In an organic electroluminescence device, an organic light-emitting multilayer provided on a surface of the resin substrate is sealed with a sealing member. A moisture-proof film coats at least part of the surface of the resin substrate in which no lead-out electrode is formed.

Composite substrate, manufacturing method of the same and organic electroluminescence device

An organic electroluminescent element in accordance with the present invention includes: a transparent electrode; a blue light-emitting layer containing a blue light-emitting material having a maximum emission wavelength 460 nm or less; a first green light-emitting layer containing a first green light-emitting material having a maximum emission wavelength in the spectrum between 460 nm and 610 nm; a red light-emitting layer containing a red light-emitting material having a maximum emission wavelength of 610 nm or more; a second green light-emitting layer containing a second green light-emitting material having a maximum emission wavelength in the spectrum between 460 nm and 610 nm; and a reflecting electrode. The maximum emission wavelength of the first green light-emitting material is located on a short wavelength side of the spectrum. The maximum emission wavelength of the second green light-emitting material is located on a long wavelength side of the spectrum.

The organic light emitting device of the present invention has a plurality of emission layers between an anode and a cathode, and the emission layers are separated from each other by an equipotential surface forming layeror a charge generating layer. The feature of the present invention resides in that the organic light emitting device has, at least either inside or outside the device, a light scattering means for scattering light emitted from the emission layers. The organic light emitting device can reduce the angle dependency of the emission brightness and the emission color by outputting the light emitted from the emission layers in a condition where the light is scattered by the light scattering means.

Organic light emitting device

Provided is an organic electroluminescent element superior in long-term durability and lifetime characteristics. The organic electroluminescent element has a structure where plurality of light-emitting layers formed via an intermediate layer are interposed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The intermediate layer has a mixed layer, a first layer, and a hole-injection layer which are formed in this order from the positive electrode to the negative electrode, the mixed layer containing an electron-donating substance and an electron-transporting organic material, and the first layer being made of an electron-transporting material. The first layer has a thickness in a range of 0.2 to 2.0 nm. The hole-injection layer consists of an electro-accepting organic material.

The present invention proposes a white organic electroluminescent element which is a multiunit element capable of emitting high intensity light that is important to a light source for lighting use, and can have an extended lifetime while suppressing deterioration in luminance. The organic electroluminescent element includes: a transparent electrode; and a first light-emitting unit including a blue fluorescent light-emitting layer containing a blue fluorescent light-emitting material; an intermediate layer; and a second light-emitting unit including a red phosphorescent light-emitting layer containing a red phosphorescent light-emitting material and a green phosphorescent light-emitting layer containing a green phosphorescent light-emitting material; and a reflecting electrode, wherein: the first and second light-emitting units are stacked having the intermediate layer interposed therebetween; and a film thickness (tR) of the red phosphorescent light-emitting layer and a film thickness (tG) of the green phosphorescent light-emitting layer satisfy a relation of 5*tR&#x2266;tG.

The organic electroluminescent element which is designed to emit white light in a range of a low color temperature to a high color temperature that is important for an illumination light source with a minor design change, and, moreover, has high color rendering property especially in an average color rendering index Ra and a special color rendering index R9 for red, while being highly efficient and long-life is obtained. The organic electroluminescent element includes: a transparent electrode; a first light-emitting unit including blue and green fluorescent light-emitting layers; an intermediate layer; a second light-emitting unit including red and green phosphorescent light-emitting layers; and a reflecting electrode. The first and second light-emitting units are stacked and the intermediate layer is interposed therebetween. The first light-emitting unit is designed to emit light by use of a phenomenon that a singlet exciton is generated by collision and fusion of two triplet excitons.

The surface light emitting device includes an organic EL element, a protection substrate, a protection part, and a light extraction structure part. The element has a first face and a second face opposite to the first face, and emits light from the first face. The substrate has transparency for light emitted from the element, and is placed facing the first face, and has a primary surface facing the first face of the element. The protection part is placed facing the second face of the element, and constitutes a housing in combination with the substrate and accommodates the element so as to protect the element from water. The structure part is interposed between the first face of the element and the substrate, and suppresses reflection of light emitted from the element on at least one of the first face of the element and the primary surface of the substrate.

Surface light emitting device

An organic EL device in the present invention comprises a light-transmissive substrate, an organic light emitting layer, a light-transmissive electrodedisposed between the light-transmissive substrateand the organic light emitting layer, and a light guiding layerwhich is disposed between the substrateand the light-transmissive electrode. The light guiding layeris configured to alter light direction. The organic EL device is configured to emit light from the organic light emitting layer, and allow the light to propagate out through said light guiding layer, the light-transmissive electrode, and the light-transmissive substrate. The light guiding layerincludes a light dispersion layer. The light dispersion layeris formed with a light dispersion regionand a light-transmissive region, which are arranged in a coplanar relation within said light dispersion layer. The light dispersion regioncontains light dispersion particlesand a binder resin. The light-transmissive regioncontains the light dispersion particlesat a lower ratio than the light dispersion region. The organic EL device in the present invention enables to improve an overall light output by suppressing the reduction of light output in the front direction as well as increasing light output in diagonal directions.

Organic EL device

An organic luminescent element comprises a substrate, an organic electroluminescence element formed on one surface thereof and having a light-emitting section emitting light to the substrate, and a lens attached on the other surface of the substrate. A refraction index of the lens is &#x2267; that of the substrate. An area of the light-emitting section, parallel to the substrate's surface, is smaller than an area of the substrate on which the lens is attached. An angle &#x3b8; between a line perpendicular to the substrate's surface in a direction from the light-emitting section toward the substrate and a straight line connecting an end of the light-emitting section and an end of the lens, is set to be &#x2267;60&#xb0;.

Organic luminescent element

[Problem] The present invention aims to provide an electroluminescence device with an improved intermediate layer, for achieving a superior durability and sustainability performance thereof. [Solution] The present invention refers to organic electroluminescence devices having a plurality of light emitting layersbetween an anodeand a cathodewith the intermediate layerbeing interposed between two of the light emitting layers. The intermediate layercomprises one layerselected from a group consisting of a charge transfer complex layer made of a charge transfer complex, a metal layer made of a metal having a work function of 3.7 eV or less, and a metal compound layer made of a compound of the metal; an electrically conductive material-containing light transmissive layer; a charge transport organic material layerformed of a charge transport organic material; and a hole injection material layerformed of a hole injection material, which are superimposed in this order. The charge transport material layeris formed to have a thickness in a range of 0.5 nm to 30 nm.

Organic electroluminescence device and method of fabricating the same

An organic electroluminescence device comprises a light transmissive substrate, a light scattering region which is disposed on the light transmissive substrate, and a light emissive layer having a luminescent point. The luminescent point is spaced from the light reflective electrode by a distance of d which satisfies the following equation:

The present invention provides an organic light emitting device which can reduce the angle dependency of the emission brightness and the emission color, and has a small change in the emission brightness and the emission color with respect to film thickness fluctuations, and can increase use efficiency of the light. The organic light emitting device of the present invention has a plurality of emission layersbetween an anodeand a cathode, and the emission layersare separated from each other by an equipotential surface forming layeror a charge generating layer. The feature of the present invention resides in that the organic light emitting device has, at least either inside or outside the device, a light scattering meansfor scattering light emitted from the emission layers. Organic light emitting device with reduced angle dependency

In a plane emission device comprising a transparent substrate, a light scattering layer formed on a surface of the transparent substrate, and a luminescent body of organic or inorganic material which is formed on a surface of the light scattering layer and emits light by light or electric energy, efficiency to takeout light to outside is improved. The light scattering layer contains binder and two kinds of fillers, and when a refraction index of the binder is assumed as Nb, a refraction index of one of the two kinds of fillers is assumed as Nf, and a refraction index of the other is assumed as Nf, a relationship that Nf&#x3e;Nb&#x3e;Nfis satisfied. Since the light scattering layer contains two kinds of fillers, disorder occurs in critical angle when light exits from the light scattering layer to the transparent substrate, incidence rate of light into the transparent substrate rises, and efficiency to takeout the light to outside increases.
