A magnetic particle manipulating apparatus includes a magnetic force source moving mechanism, an operation controller configured to control operation of the magnetic source moving mechanism, an openable cover for covering the device holder, a pressing mechanism provided on the cover to press the tubular device held by the device holder when the cover is closed so that warpage of the tubular device is corrected, an open/close state detector provided so as to detect an open/close state of the cover. The operation controller is configured to execute the processing operation only in a case where the open/close state detector detects that the cover is closed.

Magnetic particle manipulating apparatus

An apparatus for manipulating magnetic particles includes a latch mechanism. The latch mechanism has a pivoting part provided on a door and an engaging part provided on a main body. In the apparatus for manipulating magnetic particles, a first contact portion of a latch engages with the engaging part at a contact point in a state that the door is closed. The contact point is located more outside of the main body than the pivot axis. Accordingly, in a case where an external force is applied to the door in a direction to open the door in a state that the door is closed, a force is applied from the engaging part to the first contact portion, thereby generating a rotational force in a C direction to the pivoting part. As a result, in the state that the door is closed, it is possible to suppress the door from being opened without a manipulation by the user.

A dispensing device for reducing the dead volume of a liquid sample includes a main channel connected to a sample inlet and a sample outlet, and branch channels connected to the main channel. High inflow-withstanding pressure sections are provided in the main channel between the branch channels and between the branch channel and the sample outlet. Each high inflow-withstanding pressure section has a channel inner wall forming a contact angle of 90&#xb0; or larger with a liquid sample. A liquid sample enters the main channel through the sample inlet, reaches a branch point between the first branch channel and the main channel, flows into the first branch channel and the liquid reservoir, and then passes through the high inflow-withstanding pressure section to a branch point between the next branch channel and the main channel.
