A non-aqueous electrolyte cell includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte consisting of a solute and an organic solvent. The solvent is a solvent mixture of a cyclic carbonate and a non-cyclic carbonate.

The present invention discloses a secondary cell. The secondary cell comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode which is made of a carbon material, and non-aqueous electrolytic solution, wherein the secondary cell is characterized in that the carbon material as the material of the negative electrode is produced by carbonizing natural high polymers.

Secondary cell and the producing method thereof

Provided is a novel lithium secondary battery comprising a positive electrode comprising a compound capable of occluding and discharging lithium, a negative electrode composed mainly of a carbon material which comprises a graphite as an only or as a principal component, a separator between said positive electrode and said negative electrode; and an electrolyte solution of an electrolyte solute dissolved in a solvent comprising at least one specific cyclic compound. The lithium secondary battery has a large capacity, small self-discharge rate and excellent cycle characteristics and high charge-discharge efficiency.

Lithium secondary battery

Provided is a novel lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode including a compound capable of occluding and discharging lithium, a negative electrode composed mainly of a carbon material which includes a graphite as an only or as a principal component, a separator between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and an electrolyte solution of an electrolyte solute dissolved in a solvent including at least one specific cyclic compound. The lithium secondary battery has a large capacity, small self-discharge rate and excellent cycle characteristics and high charge-discharge efficiency.

A hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode comprises a conductive substrate, a layer of hydrogen-absorbing alloy granules disposed on the conductive substrate and a binder for binding the granules together and to the conductive substrate. A part of the granules is exposed on a surface of the layer on the electrode. The layer may have a predetermined thickness and the granules may include large size granules having a maximum diameter larger than half the thickness of the layer but smaller than the thickness of the layer. The granules may include first granules having a first average diameter and second granules having a second average diameter smaller than the first average diameter; the first granules may be 5 wt % or more but less than 20 wt % of the total weight of the granules.

Hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode and manufacturing method therefor

The present invention provides a secondary cell with an enlarged capacity, therefore enlarging a discharge capacity as well as improving charge/discharge cycle characteristics. The secondary cell has a carbon material for a negative electrode, wherein the spacing of (002) planes d.sub.002, a true density, a crystallite size in the direction of c axis Lc, a and specific surface area of the carbon material are restricted to ranges of 3.39.ANG. to 3.62.ANG., 1.70 g/cc to 2.20 g/cc, 10.ANG. to 50.ANG., and 2 m.sup.2 /g to 50 m.sup.2, respectively. The carbon material is selected from a carbon material group consisting of needle cokes, pitch cokes, and coke derived from furfuryl alcohol.

Secondary cell

A rechargeable non-aqueous secondary cell comprising a negative electrode; a positive electrode comprising a lithium containing manganese oxide as its active material, wherein the positive electrode has a specific surface area measured by the BET method of 9.0 m.sup.2 /g to 67.5 m.sup.2 /g; and a separator interposed between the positive and the negative electrodes which is impregnated with a non-aqueous electrolyte. A recharageable non-aqueous secondary cell comprising a negative electrode; a positive electrode comprising a lithium containing manganese oxide as its active material, which has grain sizes of substantially 20 .mu.m or less, when observed by a scanning electron microscope; and a separator interposed between the positive and said negative electrodes impregnated with a non-aqueous electrolyte.

Non-aqueous secondary cell

A hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode for an alkaline storage cell, the electrode including a hydrogen-absorbing alloy expressed by a composition formula ReBxMy, wherein Re is at least one element selected from a group consisting of rare earth elements and alkali earth elements, B is boron, and M is at least one element selected from a group consisting of Ni, Co, Mn, Al, Cr, Fe, Cu. Sn, Sb, Mo, V, Nb, Ta, Zn, Zr and Ti. The alloy consists essentially of an RM.sub.y main metal phase, and a subordinate boron-containing phase, such as a compound phase of boron and a IV-a, V-a, or VI-a group metal.

Multiphase hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode for an alkaline storage

Disclosed is a hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode including a hydrogen-absorbing alloy capable of absorbing and desorbing hydrogen reversibly, the electrode being characterized in that the hydrogen-absorbing alloy forms a multi-phase structure composed of at least these three phases, a main alloy phase, an alloy phase of Ti.sub.2 Ni system cubic-structure and an alloy phase of Ti-Ni system monoclinic-structure, and the main alloy phase has TiMo-based crystalline cubic-structure.

Hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode

A non-aqueous electrolyte cell having a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte contained in a cell can, the electrolyte including a solute and an organic solvent, the solute comprising lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate. The organic solvent comprises an organic solvent mixture of at least two high boiling point solvents including at least one cyclic carbonates. The negative electrode comprises a lithium alloy. The electrolyte includes a reaction inhibitor added thereto for inhibiting reaction between the cell can and the electrolyte. Further, the lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate is heated, dried and dehydrated in a vacuum at 80.degree.-150.degree. C.

A metal-hydrogen alkaline storage cell comprising a rare earth hydrogen absorbing alloy and positive and negative electrodes, wherein the rare earth hydrogen absorbing alloy contains praseodymium in a weight ratio of no more than about 3 weight percent based on the total weight of rare earth elements.

Metal-hydrogen alkaline storage cell

A hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode for use in an alkaline storage cell, comprising a hydrogen-absorbing alloy for reversibly absorbing and desorbing hydrogen; and a metal oxide or metal hydroxide existing in the state of a metal in a range of electric potential where said hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrochemically absorbs and desorbs hydrogen in an alkaline electrolyte.

Hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode for use in an alkaline storage cell

A solid electrolytic capacitor is disclosed wherein use is made of an electrode produced by simultaneously forming an oxide film layer and a conductive polymer layer through electrolytic oxidation or other chemical treatments on a metal subjected to a surface roughening treatment, or forming a conductive polymer layer through plasma polymerization or other chemical treatments on a metal successively subjected to surface roughening and anodic oxidation treatments.
