A display device with a touch detection function includes a substrate, pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix in a display region on a plane parallel to the substrate, a display function layer having a function to display the image in the display region, drive electrodes provided facing the pixel electrodes, touch detection electrodes that form electrostatic capacitance between there and the drive electrodes, a control unit that generates a control signal to switch between a display operation period for applying a display signal between the pixel and drive electrodes and a display stop period for stopping the display operation. The control unit generates first and second control signals respectively having a first frequency and a second frequency that is different from the first frequency, and has first and second operation modes respectively including a period controlled by the first control signal and a period controlled by the second control signal.

Display device with touch detection function

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display unit and a driver unit. The driver unit includes a display drive unit, a power supply unit and a control unit. The control unit instructs a display period in which the image is displayed in the display unit and a non-display period in which the image is not displayed to the display drive unit, and instructs mitigation driving which mitigates a difference in an electrical load of the display drive unit between the display period and the non-display period to the power supply unit in the non-display period.

Display device and method of driving the same

Disclosed herein is a liquid crystal display device having first and second substrates disposed to face each other so as to hold a liquid crystal layer therebetween, and a gate potential creating circuit for outputting a selection potential and a non-selection potential, scanning lines, signal lines, thin film transistors formed so as to correspond to intersection portions between the scanning lines and the signal lines, respectively, pixel electrodes electrically connected to the thin film transistors, respectively, and a gate control circuit for switching the selection potential and the non-selection potential supplied from the gate potential creating circuit over to each other, thereby supplying one of the selection potential and the non-selection potential to corresponding ones of the thin film transistors through corresponding one of the scanning lines being formed on the first substrate, and a common electrode being formed either on the first substrate or the second substrate.
