A cartridge drive apparatus for a disc cartridge having upper and lower shells which are separatably joined to each other to form a cartridge body is disclosed, in which a accommodated disc is able to be inserted or ejected by separating the upper and lower shells vertically. The cartridge drive apparatus includes a cartridge holder which, by inserting the cartridge body, has an upper holder supporting the upper shell and a lower holder supporting the lower shell, and a holder moving mechanism which separates the upper holder and the lower holder of the cartridge holder to separate the upper shell and the lower shell and thus is able to allow the disc to be inserted or ejected.

A disc loading mechanism transporting a disc between a disc cartridge and a recording and reproducing apparatus includes: a loading arm having at a leading end thereof claw members which comes into contact with an outer circumference of the disc and performs drawing of the disc into the recording and reproducing apparatus and insertion of the disc into the disc cartridge; an arm driving mechanism which slides the loading arm in a disc transport direction; a disc extruding lever which extrudes the disc up to a contact position with the claw members when discharging the disc; and a lever driving mechanism which drives the extrusion lever, wherein each of the claw members includes a draw-in surface portion and an insertion surface portion provided at the opposite side to the draw-in surface portion.

Mechanism to load disc from cartridge to recording apparatus

Disclosed are an optical disk recording and reproducing apparatus, a remote controller, and a content management method capable of allowing a user to easily confirm contents recorded on an optical disk, wherein an optical disk is integrally provided with a read-only RFID tag that records only a disk ID to identify the optical disk as an individual. When a content is recorded on the optical disk, a video recorder records disk management information including the disk ID of the optical disk and index information about the content. After the content is recorded, a remote controller noncontactly reads the disk ID from the RFID tag of the optical disk and transmits the disk ID to the video recorder. The video recorder extracts index information corresponding to the received disk ID from the disk management information and displays the index information in a list.

There is provided a cable for data transmission which can be wired and constructed without damaging a surface of a wall, ceiling, floor or the like, without using any clamps and which does not degrade appearance of a wired space, and further, allows the wiring construction of the cable provided with a plurality of core wires in a state of less crosstalk. A cable () for data transmission includes a core wire () having a medium that transmits data and a coating member () having adhesiveness and coating at least part of the core wire (). In this way, because of the adhesiveness of the coating member (), it is easy to stick the cable onto a wall () or the like. Moreover, since a wiring construction of the cable on a surface of the wall () or the like without using a clamp, screw or nail is made possible, only the cable is exposed on the surface of the wall () or the like and the appearance thereof is improved.

An optical communication apparatus is connected to the other communication apparatus by an optical fiber. The optical fiber cable comprises conducting wires. By interconnecting an output-side conducting circuit provided to the optical communication apparatus and an input-side conducting circuit provided to the other communication apparatus, a detection circuit is constituted. The optical communication apparatus comprises a monitor for monitoring a state of conduction of the detection circuit and an output control portion for controlling a laser diode. When the optical fiber cable is extracted from the optical communication apparatus, it is extracted from the other communication apparatus, and it is broken, the output-side and input-side conducting circuits are cut off. The monitor monitors a change in the state of conduction. If the monitor detects a change in the state of conduction, the output control portion stops emission of light from the laser diode.

A magnet-optical disk drive device comprises a disc driving mechanism which includes a drive shaft powered by an electric motor. A magnet-optical disc is detachably connected to the drive shaft. A magnetic field modulation head is positioned at one side of the disc, and an optical unit is positioned at the other side of the disc. A moving mechanism is employed for moving both the magnetic field modulation head and the optical unit in a radial direction of the disc. The magnetic field modulation head is of a floating type wherein a head proper is forced to float above the surface of the disc due to the force of an air flow which is produced when the disc is rotated.

A disk drive apparatus is provided with a center positioning pin engageable with a center positioning aperture of a magnetic disk, and a drive pin establishing positioning and driving engagement with a driving and positioning opening formed in the disk. The drive pin is supported by a resilient member which is resiliently deformable and is pivotable retative to a turntable. The resilient member is preferably so arranged to cause pivotal movement of the drive pin to have substantially greater radial motion component in comparison with peripheral motion component, or to permit inclination of the drive pin relative to a vertical axis at least in a direction different from the direction of rotation of the turntable by the resilience. With this arrangement, the disk drive apparatus is capable of exerting higher rotational torque with an accuracy in centering of a magnetic disk to be driven and can minimize shifting of chucking point so as not to cause offset of indexes recorded in the disk. Furthermore, the disk drive apparatus can reduce a shock in chucking and whereby minimize or eliminate wear and/or deformation of a drive opening and a drive pin.

In a rotary drive apparatus for a disk of the type in which the disk is mounted on a turntable, a central pin arranged at the center of the turntable and a drive pin arranged in a position spaced radially from this center of the turntable are respectively inserted in a central hole of the disk and a drive hole spaced radially from the central hole of the disk so that the disk is driven by the drive pin upon rotation of the turntable, and the drive hole of the disk is urged radially away from the center of the turntable by the drive pin so that the periphery of the central pin is pushed against the edge of the central hole for making the center of the disk coincide with that of the turntable; the drive pin is mounted for movement in a direction opposite to the rotating direction of the turntable and simultaneously in a direction radially away from the center of the turntable in reaction to the driving of the disk by the drive pin, thereby to ensure that the force that moves the drive hole of the disk in the direction away from the center of the turntable is increased in proportion to a torque loaded on the disk, and as the result, it becomes possible, without limiting the torque, to ensure that the center of the disk will coincide accurately and surely with that of the turntable.
