A display device of active matrix type allows reducing display brightness non-uniformity that is caused by initial variation and fluctuation over time in a driving transistor for emissive elements in pixel circuits. The display device includes pixel circuits, a measurement circuit and a gradation voltage supplying circuit. Each pixel circuit includes the driving transistor and an input circuit. The measurement circuit includes a constant current supplying circuit for generating and supplying one or more constant currents to the input circuit of the pixel circuits in a time division manner. The measurement circuit A/D-converts output voltages of the constant current supplying circuit and calculates data relating to electron mobility and threshold value of the driving transistor. The gradation voltage supplying circuit supplies to the pixel circuits a corrected gradation voltage, which is data corrected on the basis of data calculated from the measurement circuit.

Display device of active matrix type

A reflective type optical signal distributor comprising, in a housing (2), a plurality of optical input/output units (3) functioning as input and output terminals for an optical signal, an optical circuit assembly (6) for reflecting and separating the optical signal, and a plurality of guide optical fibers (8) for connecting the plurality of optical signals entering any one of the plurality of optical input/output units (3) and the optical circuit assembly (6), whereby an optical input/output units (3) is substantially equally distributed to all other ones of the plurality of optical input and output units (3), the optical circuit assembly (6) comprising an optical circuit in which a plurality of independent branched optical waveguides (22) merge into a single main optical waveguide (21), a reflective surface (4) formed at an end of the main waveguide (21), and the plurality of guide optical fibers (8) being connected to the corresponding plurality of independent branched optical waveguides (22).

Optical signal distributors

A bidirectional optically powered signal transmission apparatus includes a control station and a field station which are optically linked by an optical fiber for signal transmission and for power transmission. The control station sends a first light beam to a light receiver in the field station. The field station sends a second light beam to the control station. The first and second light beams are at different wavelengths so that simultaneous bidirectional transmission is enabled. The field station further converts a portion of the first light beam to electric power for powering the field station. The field station demodulates an AC component superimposed on the light it receives to produce an AC electric signal for control of the field station. The control and field stations include respective optical transceiver circuits, each including a light source, light receiver and light splitter-coupler. The light receiver in the control station further includes a light receiver array for converting a portion of the first light beam to electric power.

Bidirectional optically powered signal transmission apparatus

A bidirectional optically powered signal transmission apparatus includes a control station and a field station which are optically linked by an optical fiber. The control station sends a first light beam to a light receiver in the field station. The field station sends a second light beam to the control station. The first and second light beams are at different wavelengths so that simultaneous bidirectional transmission is enabled. The field station further converts a portion of the first light beam to electric power for powering the field station. The field station demodulates an AC component superimposed on the light it receives to produce an AC electric signal for control of the field station. Optical transmitting and receiving functions in the field station are preferably combined into an integrated opto-electric and electro-optic converter (O-E and E-O converter). The O-E and E-O converter is preferably an integrated circuit.

A rotatable polygon mirror comprising a transparent regular polygonal cylinder having the sides of a regular polygon. The sides are rotationally symmetrical with one another relative to a rotating axis of the transparent regular polygonal cylinder. The transparent regular polygonal cylinder has inner surfaces in the body of the transparent regular polygonal cylinder which correspond to the respective sides of the regular polygon, where the inner surfaces consist of total internal reflection surfaces.

Rotatable polygon mirror

A diode failure detecting device in a rotary rectifier having fuses provided respectively for phases and connected in series to rectifying diodes. Light emitting diode circuits in one embodiment are connected in parallel respectively to the fuses which are arranged on the peripheral surface of a rotor. The LED's preferably emit light in different emission spectra when the respective fuses are blown out. An optical fiber sensor is provided on the side of a stator, for detecting when the LED's emit light and a photo-electric converter converts optical signals applied thereto through the optical fiber sensor into electrical signals through optical spectral discrimination separately according to the phases of the rectifier. A logic circuit determines the flow of over-current in the rectifying diodes from an output of the photo-electric converter. In a second embodiment, flags on the fuses are optically scanned to determine the presence of a blow fuse. By determining the absence of a pulse or determining pulse width, the detection of a flag is made. If the reflectivities of the flags vary, identification of a particular blown fuse can be made.

Diode failure detecting device in rotary rectifier

A blood sugar analyzer has a reaction cell which houses a fixed enzyme membrane and measuring electrode and which receives a blood specimen, to cause a chemical reaction between the specimen and membrane for measuring the blood sugar concentration in the specimen on the basis of the reaction current generated in the electrode by the reaction. The analyzer also monitors the temperature in the cell and the sensitivity of the electrode, and a printer prints out data on the temperature and sensitivity. A digital control device controls overall operation of the analyzer.

System for controlling a printer in a blood sugar analyzer

A process of calibrating a blood sugar analyzing apparatus, in which the blood sugar concentration in a blood specimen is measured with a fixed enzyme membrane sensor and corrected by calibration means, said blood sugar analyzing apparatus providing a linear relationship between measured and actual blood sugar concentrations in a range of blood sugar concentrations which are lower than a predetermined blood sugar concentration, and producing a deviation from said linear relationship in a range of blood sugar concentrations higher than said predetermined blood sugar concentration, in that said process comprises the steps of effecting a plurality of measurements of standard solutions having known low blood sugar concentrations in said blood sugar analyzing apparatus, obtaining an average value of the results of the measurements with said calibration means, determining a first correction coefficient (k.sub.1) to correct a deviation of said average value from the reference blood sugar concentration, thereafter measuring a blood specimen, and multiplying the result of the measurement by said correction coefficient with said calibration means when said result of the measurement is less than said predetermined blood sugar concentration and by a second calibration coefficient (K.sub.2) when the result of the measurement exceeds said predetermined blood sugar concentration.

Process of calibrating a blood sugar analyzing apparatus

A blood sugar analyzing apparatus has a reaction cell which houses a fixed enzyme membrane sensor and a measuring electrode which receives a blood specimen which causes a chemical reaction between the blood specimen and said fixed enzyme membrane for measuring the blood sugar concentration in the specimen on the basis of a reaction current signal generated in the sensor by the chemical reaction. The analyzing apparatus has a microcomputer for calculating a conversion coefficient used for converting the reaction current into a blood sugar concentration value by introducing a standard solution having a known blood sugar concentration, for storing data representing the value of said conversion coefficient, for calculating a blood sugar concentration value of a test specimen based upon the stored conversion coefficient value and reaction current from the test specimen. A display and printer provide a read-out of the blood sugar concentration value obtained. The microcomputer controls temperature and timing of the measurement process, as well as other control functions.

Blood sugar analyzer having fixed enzyme membrane sensor

A blood sugar analyzer system for measuring the blood sugar concentration level in a blood specimen is provided. A sensor having a fixed enzyme membrane and a measuring electrode generates a reaction current proportional to the blood sugar level of the specimen, and a sampling mechanism samples the sensor output at regular intervals. A memory receives data from the sampling and divides the data into a group of new data and a group of old data. A calculating mechanism calculates the average value of each group, and the difference between the averages. When the difference exceeds a predetermined value, the latest sensed data value is selected as the rising point of the chemical reaction between the fixed enzyme membrane of the sensor and the blood sugar of the specimen.
