A resin worm wheel is formed by injection molding and includes a first end and a second end. The worm wheel is adapted to be driven by a worm. The worm wheel further includes: an engaging portion including a plurality of teeth engageable with the worm and a tooth space formed between the neighboring teeth; a first non-engaging portion adjacent to the engaging portion at the first end of the worm wheel and not engaging with the worm; and a first cutout portion formed at the first non-engaging portion continuously from the tooth space, the first cutout portion extending axially.

A door driving unit includes a driving mechanism rotatable in a reciprocating manner within a predetermined operational angle range, a body portion fixed to a vehicle body, a first member driven by the driving mechanism, and a second member driven by the first member by being in contact with the first member. The first member and the second member are supported by a common shaft. The door driving unit further includes an engaging mechanism for engaging the first member and the second member with each other so that the first member and the second member rotate as a unit with each other within a first predetermined angle range when the first member drives to rotate the second member.

An opening and closing control system for an opening-closing member comprises an opening and closing mechanism for opening and closing the opening-closing member, an actuator for operating the opening and closing mechanism, an electromagnetic clutch for controlling a torque transmission by connecting and disconnecting the actuator and the mechanism, an opening and closing angle detecting means for detecting an opening and a closing angle of the opening-closing member relative to the vehicle, and a control means for controlling an electric power supplied to the electromagnetic clutch based on a detected result from the opening and closing angle detecting means and controlling an electric power supplied to the actuator, in which a supporting force required for supporting the opening-closing member is increased, and the control means for decreasing the electric power supplied to the electromagnetic clutch in accordance the opening-closing operation from an intermediate position to an opened position or a closed position.

An opening and closing mechanism for a cover of a vehicle opening which transmits the actuation force securely and effectively. The opening and closing mechanism for cover of a vehicle opening includes a crank gear being rotatable about a crank axis center for opening and closing the opening and closing mechanism for the cover for a vehicle opening, a slider reciprocating along a guide member, and a cover operation member one end of which is pivoted on a crank pin of the crank gear, the other end of which includes a crank arm pivoted on a slider pin of the slider, and provided between the slider and the cover for a vehicle opening and being swingably relative to the slider for cooperating the slider and the cover of a vehicle opening.

Opening and closing mechanism for vehicle opening

A headrest device includes a stay member having a pair of vertical supporting bars adapted to be supported on a seat back of a vehicle seat and a horizontal supporting bar connecting the pair of vertical supporting bars, and a frame member having a connecting portion rotatably mounted on the horizontal supporting bar with a friction force existing between the horizontal supporting bar and the frame member. The frame member is provided with a slit extending along the connecting portion of the frame member and having ends extending towards the connecting portion. The portion of the frame defined by the slit can be resiliently deformed in the peripheral direction of the horizontal supporting bar and serve as a fulcrum point for adjusting the strength of the rotational friction force of the connecting portion.

A support bar of a headrest assembly or a hand brake is provided with one or more notches or indented portions. The notches or indented portions are formed in a way that inhibits the formation of additional material portions extending outwardly from the smoothly curved outer surface of the support bar. The indented portions or notches possess a shape having continuous curvature as seen in a cross-section perpendicular to the axis of the pipe member.

A headrest device ensures the movement of a headrest frame body to a stay and enables a foaming resin molding of a headrest. A support portion having a semicircular cross section and restricting portions having an approximately U-shape cross section are formed on a plate body. Two sheets of plate bodies are connected with each other in an opposed manner. Then, a headrest pad made of foaming resin is integrally formed with the plate bodies.

A vehicle seat back lock mechanism includes a releasable latch connectable to a fixed part of the vehicle for preventing rotation of the seat back. A manual operating element is movable to disengage the latch by rotating a rotational lever which, in turn, moves a connecting rod connected to the latch. The connecting rod can be shifted so that it cannot be moved by the rotational lever. That shifting is done by sliding a cancelling lever which is connected to the connecting rod, thereby sliding the connecting rod within a slot formed in the rotational lever until the connecting rod reaches a part of the slot oriented to prevent the connecting rod from being moved when the rotational lever rotates.

The operating member is slidable relative to the rotating element and includes an operating lever manually operated to change the head rest body position and a locking element engageable with the stopper portion of the stopper member. A spring member has one end engaging the stopper member and the other end engaging the rotating element so that rotation of the rotating element is permitted by the release of the engagement between the locking element and the stopper portion of the stopper member by the slideable movement of the operating member.
