The present invention provides a substrate collecting device that includes a first stage on which a sheet is placed with a plurality of substrates facing downward, an sampler which carries out a predetermined operation on some of the substrates, which are disposed at predetermined positions, from above the first stage thereby to cause the substrates to come off from the sheet and fall, an optical system and a collector disposed below the first stage, and a second stage, which integrally moves the optical system and the collector in a horizontal direction. The second stage is capable of positioning the optical system and the collector at two positions at which the optical system or the collector is disposed substantially vertically below a predetermined position.

Substrate collecting device

A sufficient amount of biological molecules are collected from a desired region in a tissue section with a single operation. Provided is a method of preparing a biological specimen including a sectioning step of sectioning biological tissue along a single cutting plane; a staining step of staining a first tissue section of two tissue sections that have been sectioned in the sectioning step; a stained-image capturing step of acquiring a stained image of the stained tissue section; a non-stained-image capturing step of acquiring a non-stained image in which, with respect to a second tissue section that has been sectioned in the sectioning step, division lines that divide the tissue section into a plurality of segments are defined; and associating steps of associating the non-stained image and the stained image with each other.

Method of preparing biological specimen

In order to pick up a sufficient amount of cells for a genetic test from a section of a biological tissue with a simple structure and a simple operation, provided is a cell collection apparatus comprising: a substrate which is provided to be dividable into a plurality of small pieces along a predetermined dividing line, and which has a flat surface to which a section of a biological tissue can be pasted; a sheet-shaped expandable member to which the substrate can be adhered in a detachable manner, and which is expandable in a direction along the surface; a expansion unit for expanding the expandable member in at least a region adhered with the substrate, in a direction along the surface; and a pickup unit for detaching and picking up the divided small pieces from the expandable member.

Cell collection apparatus, cell collecting system, and cell collecting method

A group of small pieces of divided base substrate is arrayed on a sheet without gaps therebetween by means of a simple method. Provided is a substrate-sheet fabricating method including cutting into a group of small pieces a base substrate whose first-side surface is attached to a first sheet member; transferring the group of small pieces to a second sheet member by attaching the second sheet member, which can be contracted in the direction along a surface thereof, to second-side surfaces of the group of small pieces and by peeling off the first sheet member from the first-side surfaces of the group of small pieces; and making the second sheet member contract in the direction along the surface thereof.

Substrate-sheet fabricating method

A nucleotide sequence-detecting method, including preparing a first intramolecular detecting sequence having a sequence complementary to a first sequence located at a 3'-side of the detecting site contained in the nucleotide sample and a second intramolecular detecting sequence having a sequence complementary to a second sequence located at a 5&#x2032;-side of the detecting site, preparing a detecting chain containing a sequence of the detecting chain by connecting the first intramolecular detecting sequence to the 3&#x2032; terminal of the nucleotide sample and the second intramolecular detecting sequence to the 5&#x2032; terminal, allowing intramolecular hybridization at two positions of the detecting chain, connecting the 3&#x2032; terminal of the first intramolecular detecting sequence to the 5&#x2032; terminal of the second intramolecular detecting sequence, obtaining a cyclic structure, detecting the desired sequence in the nucleotide sample from the cyclic structure.

A high-density capillary array for reaction and detection of fluid, comprising a plurality of fluid processing capillaries arranged in parallel on one same plane, the fluid processing capillaries each comprising a reaction part for performing processing on fluid, connection parts connected to each end portion of the reaction part, and opening portions provided at ends of the connection parts, for allowing the fluid to flow into and out of the reaction part, wherein each of the fluid processing capillaries is bent at portions between the reaction part and the connection parts.
