A communication system capable of improving telephone communication service by effectively integrating communications with IP phones and with mobile phones. A connection controller controls a connection interface with a mobile phone and obtains the phone number of the mobile phone being connected thereto. A connect information transmitter transmits connect information including identification information and the phone number. A connect information manager stores and manages the received connect information. When a calling IP phone sends a request to call the mobile phone, a communication controller determines based on the connect information whether the mobile phone is connected to a receiving IP phone. If yes, the communication controller makes a call to the receiving IP phone to establish communication between the calling and receiving IP phones.

Communication system

A communication device having a plurality of processor units is disclosed. Each processor unit has a buffer for buffering packets, a receiving processor, and a transmitting processor. Upon receipt of a reception token, the receiving processor receives packets from the outside. Then, if the buffer is empty, the receiving processor buffers the received packets in the buffer. If the buffer is not empty, the receiving processor discards the received packets, increments the number of discarded packets, and passes the reception token to another processor unit for circulation. Upon receipt of a transmission token, the transmitting processor transmits the packets in the buffer to the outside based on the number of discarded packets.

Communication device and communication method using tokens and local counters of discarded packets to maintain order of the packets

In a communication system including an external maintenance terminal and a communication device in which boards including a maintenance-and-operation board and a switchboard are installed, the switchboard is directly connected to the external maintenance terminal, and a predetermined address is assigned for use only in communication between the maintenance-and-operation board and the external maintenance terminal, and set in the switchboard. When communication is performed between ones of the boards, the switchboard connects the ones of the boards on the basis of the local addresses of the ones of the boards. When communication is performed between the maintenance-and-operation board and the external maintenance terminal, the switchboard connects the maintenance-and-operation board to the external maintenance terminal, and translates a global address of the external maintenance terminal into the predetermined address and vice versa.

A testing method is used to perform a test of an information notification service function of a switching apparatus which can provide the information notification service in compliance with a predetermined information notification service specification. The testing method comprises a step of performing an information notification service function between a testing apparatus which can emulate a plurality of types of information reception terminals for different information notification service specifications and the switching apparatus which can connect a subscriber side two-wire in a subscriber line circuit in the switching apparatus to the testing apparatus.

Method and apparatus for testing an information notification service

A centralized test apparatus is provided for an ATM exchange system. The test apparatus monitors cells transmitted through a specified line connected to an office unit of the exchange system or through a specified path in the exchange system, and measures the traffic of the specified line or path. The test apparatus has an instruction unit for issuing an instruction to test a cell transmitted through the specified line or path, a destination changer arranged in the office unit, for changing the destination header of the cell according to an instruction from the instruction unit, so that the destination header indicates a tester, a switching unit for guiding the cell to the tester according to the header, and the tester fixed in the exchange system, to centrally monitor and test the cell.

Centralized test apparatus for ATM exchange system

A method of testing an ATM exchange having a redundant structure that includes an active system and a standby system includes the steps of transmitting a test cell from a testing device to both the active system and standby system, causing the test cell to pass through ATM switches in each of the active and standby systems, returning the test cell that has passed through the ATM switches of both systems to the testing device, and conducting a test of the ACT switches in the active and standby systems by comparing data contained in the transmitted test cell with data contained in a test cell received from the active system or standby system.

ATM exchange and method of testing same

An alarm collection apparatus for use in an exchange system has a plurality of local offices, a central maintenance office, a toll switch, and an alarm link. The local offices include an enhanced local office and a conventional local office, the enhanced local office having enhanced features with respect to the number of alarm collection points, a display function thereof, and a man-machine alarms interface. An alarm collection shelf collects alarm information from the conventional local office in the same manner as from the enhanced local office, by converting the data format used for the conventional office to one which corresponds to the data format used for the enhanced office. The alarm collection shelf also collects alarms from a radio base office.
