A light emitting device having excellent light emission efficiency contains a cathode, a first organic layer containing a compound having a cross-linkable group and a phosphorescent transition metal complex, a second organic layer containing a crosslinked body of the same compound as the compound having a cross-linkable group, and an anode in this order. The ratio of the compound having a cross-linkable group contained in the first organic layer is 2 to 10% by mass with respect to the total mass of the first organic layer. The compound having a cross-linkable group may be a compound having at least one cross-linkable group selected from cross-linkable groups represented by the formula (XL-1) to the formula (XL-19).

Compound and method for producing same

A light emitting device is provided which contains an anode, a cathode, and two organic layers disposed between the anode and the cathode. The first organic layer contains a phosphorescent material and the second organic layer contains a crosslinked body of a crosslinkable material and a phosphorescent material. Provided is a light-emitting device including an anode, a light-emitting layer, an electron-transporting layer and a cathode. The electron-transporting layer contains at least one electron-transporting material whose LUMO level is &#x2212;3.0 eV or more and at least one dopant material selected from the group consisting of a heterocyclic compound whose SOMO level is &#x2212;2.2 to &#x2212;1.5 eV and a derivative thereof. A metal complex exhibits blue light emission of high color purity and has a color purity of small temperature dependence, particularly in the blue region. A highly stable metal complex useful for the manufacture of a light-emitting device has an excellent lifetime property, particularly in a blue region, specifically a metal complex represented by Formula (1): wherein M is a metal atom; each Rindependently represents a divalent linking group; i and j each independently represent 0 or 1; R, R, R, R, Rand Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom and the like, with a proviso that at least one of R, R, R, R, Rand Ris a dendron; m is an integer of from 1 to 3, n is an integer of from 0 to 2, and m+n is 2 or 3; and the portion represented by Formula (2):  represents a bidentate ligand; wherein Rand Rare an atom bonding to the metal atom M, and each independently represents a carbon atom and the like.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a composition using a polymer compound, which is useful for manufacturing a blue phosphorescent light-emitting device excellent in luminous efficiency. The present invention provides a composition including: a polymer compound substantially consisting of a constitutional unit selected from a constitutional unit represented by Formula (1)-1 below, a constitutional unit represented by Formula (1)-2 below, a constitutional unit represented by Formula (2)-1 below, a constitutional unit represented by Formula (2)-2 below, and a constitutional unit derived from a phosphorescent light-emitting compound having a light-emitting spectrum peak at smaller than 480 nm and the polymer compound containing at least both of the constitutional unit represented by Formula (1)-1 and the constitutional unit represented by Formula (1)-2; and a phosphorescent light-emitting compound having a light-emitting spectrum peak at smaller than 480 nm.
