A damper which is adhered to the head suspension of a disc drive, which comprises a constraint layer/viscoelastic layer laminate, wherein the viscoelastic layer is temporarily provided with a release sheet that is removed on use so that the damper may be adhered to the head suspension, the side of the release sheet in contact with the viscoelastic layer having been treated with a non-silicone releasing agent, preferably a long-chain alkyl type or fluoroacrylate type releasing agent. No silicone is transferred to the viscoelastic layer so that silicone gas generation causing destruction of the memory layer of a disc can be prevented.

Damper and head suspension having the same

A damper continuous feeding body having a plurality of punched out dampers, each of which is constituted by a viscoelastic body and a restraint body which are laminated on each other, wherein surfaces of the viscoelastic bodies are pasted on a release surface of a continuous liner so that the plurality of dampers are arranged at a predetermined pitch. The damper continuous feeding body allows dampers to be pasted by an automatic machine so as to improve the accuracy of the pasted positions of the dampers and to enhance the efficiency in pasting, and further whereby the dampers can be prevented from being exposed to contamination.

The present invention provides a damping member constituted of a viscoelastic member and a constraint member, each of which is formed on a brush made of thin metal plate, in a dc minimotor, the viscoelastic member comprising adhesive mass containing a copolymer of alkyl acrylate and acrylic acid. The present invention further provides a brush constituted of the above damping member and a dc minimotor equipped with the brush.

A vibration-damping pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing a crosslinked structure of a copolymer comprising (A) from 75 to 92% by weight of a main monomer comprising an alkyl (meth)acrylate containing from 8 to 12 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety thereof and (B) from 8 to 25% by weight of a carboxyl-containing monomer whose homopolymer has a glass transition temperature of 50.degree. C. or more, said crosslinked structure having a solvent-insoluble content of 80% by weight or more and a weight loss of 3% by weight or less on heating at 120.degree. C. for 240 hours, and said composition having a T-peel strength of 400 g/20 mm-width or more from a SUS plate and a loss factor of 0.05 or more at 60.degree. C. in the vicinity of 1 kHz as determined by a half-value width method. The composition exhibits satisfactory heat resistance against long-term use in high temperatures as well as satisfactory adhesion to various parts at room temperature.
