With the hearing aid device of the present invention, when the power is turned on, communication starts between the first and second hearing aids, and until this communication is established, it is recognized that the power has not been switched on to the second hearing aid, and the user is notified. Also, if the battery of the second hearing aid should die during use, a dead battery notification is sent to the first hearing aid, and if communication between the first and second hearing aids is blocked, the user is notified on the side of the first hearing aid that is operating.

There is provided an environment adaptive type hearing aid capable of reducing the erroneous estimation of an ambient environment or the unnecessary changeover of a hearing aid process. The environment adaptive type hearing aid includes an input section () that inputs an ambient sound, a scheduled environment referring section () having a scheduled environment table () to store a scheduled environment candidate corresponding to an ambient environment other than the ambient sound set in advance for the hearing aid, an environment estimating section () that estimates an ambient environment candidate of the hearing aid on the basis of the ambient sound and estimates an estimation ambient environment on the basis of the ambient environment candidate and the scheduled ambient environment candidate, a hearing ability compensation system determining section () that determines a compensation system for the hearing aid on the basis of the estimation ambient environment, a hearing ability compensating section () that processes the ambient sound on the basis of the determined compensation system, and an output section () that outputs the processed ambient sound as an output sound.

A noninvasive blood sugar level measurement method includes a process of changing a blood sugar level of a biological body, a process of noninvasively measuring biological feature amounts at plural measurement points that are timewise shifted from each other, a process of invasively measuring blood sugar levels of the biological body by the number of times that is lesser than the measurement points of the biological feature amount, a process of obtaining an approximate curve indicating temporal change in the actually measured blood sugar level that is obtained by the invasive measurement, a process of obtaining, using the obtained approximate curve, blood sugar levels (interpolation blood sugar levels) that would be obtained by the invasive measurement at the measurement times when the biological feature amounts are noninvasively measured, and a process of associating the values of the biological feature amounts at the times corresponding to the respective measurement points of the biological feature amounts with the interpolation blood sugar levels at the respective times, thereby forming a correlation table having plural sets of the biological feature amounts and the interpolation blood sugar levels. Therefore, even when the change in the biological feature amount relative to the blood sugar level is not monotonous, it is possible to form a precise correlation table without increasing the number of times of the invasive blood sugar level measurement.

Data reproduction apparatus having a variable synchronization detection window

A demodulator demodulates modulated data into demodulated data, detects a demodulation error, and sets an erasure flag. An error corrector performs erasure correction for the demodulated data retained in a demodulated data memory by using the erasure flag retained in an erasure flag memory . An erasure flag eraser instructs the erasure flag memory to erase an erasure flag which is set to the corrected demodulated data. In this way, the erasure correction which has a higher correction capability and is effective particularly for burst errors is realized.

Method and circuit for erasure correction

A data error correction device which performs iterative decoding for data to which error-correcting codes are multiply added is provided with a means for detecting the presence or absence of uncorrectable codewords in the present decoding, a means containing the uncorrectability detection result, corresponding to the immediately preceding decoding, a means for detecting that syndromes of all codewords in the present decoding are zero, and a means for judging the termination of the correction processing to terminate the iterative decoding when no uncorrectable codeword is detected in the immediately preceding decoding and the syndromes of all codewords are zero in the present decoding. Therefore, when the iterative decoding for data to which the error-correcting codes are multiply added is performed, the number of times of the iterative decoding can be reduced with ensuring the reliability of data as in the case where the data are corrected the maximum number of times, thereby realizing the reduced power consumption in the error correction processing.

Iterative decoding of multiply-added error-correcting codes in a data processing error correction device

A data error correction apparatus includes sixteen units of syndrome calculators for calculating syndromes of one code word of an octuple error correcting Reed-Solomon code, and these calculators comprise Galois field adders, flip-flops, and first constant multipliers for calculating elements of Galois field, respectively. Further, some of these syndrome calculators are provided with second constant multipliers for calculating elements of Galois field, and selectors for selecting either the first constant multipliers or the second constant multipliers, thereby realizing syndrome calculators capable of simultaneously processing eight code words of a single error correcting Reed-Solomon code. Therefore, the number&excl;of code words to be processed in parallel in syndrome calculation for an error correcting code having relatively low error-correcting ability is increased by effectively utilizing the syndrome calculators for an error correcting code having relatively high error-correcting ability, whereby high-speed error correction is realized.
