An image processing apparatus includes a main device including at least a scanner and an operation device including circuitry configured to operate the main device. The circuitry receives setting information and an instruction of scanning a document using the scanner, which are input to the operation device, stores at least the setting information in a memory of the operation device, in response to receiving the setting information, transmits, to the main device, a request for scanning the document using the scanner, in response to receiving the instruction of scanning the document, acquires an image of the document, which is scanned by the scanner in the main device that receives the request for scanning the document, from the main device as scanned image data, and processes the acquired scanned image data based on the setting information stored in the memory.

A cartridge receiving casing capable of permitting a cartridge to be readily removed from the casing by one hand as required while preventing the cartridge from accidentally falling off from the casing. The casing includes a casing body formed so as to be open on one side thereof to provide the casing with an opening through which a cartridge is inserted into and taken out of the casing and a cover slidably arranged on the casing body. The cartridge is engaged with first projections of stoppers at a received position, to thereby be elastically supported in the casing. When the cover is slid to an intermediate position toward the opening, the cartridge is partially exposed through the opening and elastically supported while being drawable out of the casing. Further sliding of the cover permits the cartridge to be removed from the casing.

In making a plastic case from a molten plastic material, a molten sheet of the material is passed through a nip of a pair of molding cylinders to form a sheet of desired thickness which in turn cut into blanks. A half tone indication is formed by using a cylinder having an indication-forming part which is comprised of a mat surface and a number of elongated projections having a glossy top surface. Half tone is obtained by this simple process.

A casing for receiving a magnetic tape cassette comprises a transparent or semi-transparent casing main body 1 adapted to receive therein a magnetic tape cassette and a cover 3 pivotally supported by the casing main body by way of hinges 2, wherein a rib 10 for restricting the movement of the magnetic tape cassette in the direction of thickness of the casing main body 1 and a rib 9 for restricting the movement of the cassette in the longer side direction of the casing main body 1 are formed in the inner wall at a corner portion of the cover member.

A tape cassette is provided which is so constructed that a plurality of weighting members are fittedly held in fitting apertures or recesses of a casing formed at corners of the casing in a detachable manner while being exposed at part thereof on a surface of the casing. Such construction of the cassette not only permits the cassette to exhibit optimum vibration-damping properties to ensure satisfactory recording and reproducing of the cassette and contributes an improvement in mechanical strength of the cassette but provides the cassette with a variation in design sufficient to exhibit good aesthetic properties, to thereby increase a merchandise value of the cassette.

A tape cassette capable of ensuring firm joining between different resin layers of a casing and exhibiting a good aesthetic property. The tape cassette includes a casing consisting of upper casing member and lower casing member which are integrally made into a two-layer structure of a primary resin layer and a secondary resin layer integrally formed by two-layer molding. The secondary resin layer is formed with a plurality of penetrations and the primary resin layer is joined to the secondary resin layer in a manner to be fitted in the penetrations, resulting in being integral with the secondary resin layer.

In a magnetic tape cassette comprising an upper half housing section with a see-through window, a lower half housing section, a pair of hubs on which a length of magnetic tape is wound and which are rotatably fitted in between the two half housing sections, and a stopper located between one edge of the tape wound on the hubs and the upper half housing section and having pawls engageable with given points of the hubs, the stopper has a flap portion slidable along the inner side of the see-through window and which is exposed when the pawls are engaged with the hubs. The stopper is slidable perpendicularly to the axes of rotation of the hubs. It is colored as classified by the grade, use, or type of the magnetic tape involved. Its exposed area visible through the see-through window is at a maximum when the stopper is engaged with the hubs.

A magnetic head of a cassette tape recorder set is demagnetized by a demagnetizer mounted in a tape cassette housing. The demagnetizer has an erase head which faces with the magnetic head which is subject to a demagnetizing action, a pair of rotatable rings which engage with spindles of the tape recorder set, energizing means for energizing said erase head with AC decreasing current, and coupling means for coupling said rings for simultaneous rotation of the rings.

A magnetic tape cassette comprises a metallic intermediate frame having upper and under flat surfaces in parallel and providing a space large enough to hold a reel of magnetic tape, and a top plate and a bottom plate, both of which are plastic moldings in the form of substantially flat plates fastened together with the intermediate frame along the flat surfaces. The intermediate frame and the both plate have aligning and matching means for precise engagement with one another.
