The potency to be written via ink during recording so as to write the ink image and the re-transferability during re-transferring of the ink image on a recording medium should be retained, securely, for a long term. The transferring layers of the intermediate transferring medium comprise surface layer and intermediate layer, wherein the material of the surface layer comprises a silicone rubber containing 1 to 20 parts by weight of a non-reactive organopolysiloxane of a viscosity of 100 to 100,000 at 25.degree. C. per 100 parts by weight of an addition-type silicone rubber with no inorganic filler; and the material of the intermediate layer comprises a silicone rubber containing 1 to 20 parts by weight of a non-reactive organopolysiloxane of a viscosity of 100 to 100,000 at 25.degree. C. per 100 parts by weight of an addition-type silicone rubber.

Intermediate transferring medium for thermal transfer printer

An intermediate transfer member for a thermal transfer printer adapted to an intermediate transfer method and comprising: an intermediate transfer member, which has a transfer layer, and on which an ink image is written by thermal transfer; and a printing medium onto which the ink image written on the intermediate transfer member is again transferred, wherein material of at least a surface layer of the transfer layer is silicon rubber containing: (a) alkenyl-group-containing organopolysiloxane; (b) organohydrogenpolysiloxane (c) non-reactive organopolysiloxane expressed by the following formula (1): ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having no aliphatic unsaturated group or a hydroxyl group, R.sup.2 are the same or different groups, such as methyl groups and phenyl groups, and 1 mol % to 30 mol % of all of R.sup.2 in each molecule are phenyl groups; and (d) a hydrosilylated reactive catalyst, the silicon rubber containing no inorganic filler.

Intermediate transfer member for thermal transfer printer

A heat shrinkable silicone tube is prepared from a silicon rubber composition comprising (A) a diorganopolysiloxane, (B) a thermoplastic resin, (C) finely divided silica, (D) an inorganic filler of titanium white, alumina, quartz powder or talc having a mean particle size of 0.5-15 .mu.m, and (E) a curing agent by extrusion molding the silicone rubber composition into a tubular shape preferably at a drawdown of 150-250%, vulcanizing the tube, and heat stretching the tube in a radial direction. The tube exhibits axial orientation during the stretching step and a shrinking step subsequent thereto and is thus tearable.

Heat shrinkable silicone tube and method for making

A fixing belt is prepared by forming a layer of fluorosilicone rubber or fluorocarbonsiloxane rubber on the outer surface of an endless belt body. The fixing belt shows good toner release and minimal swell with silicone oil and is thus helpful in producing electrophotographic images of quality.

A fuser roll having a metal core shaft has a resilient layer placed around the metal core shaft with at least the surface layer of the resilient layer comprising a fluorosilicone rubber layer containing 5 to 50 wt. % polytetrafluoroethylene. Since this fuser roll is excellent in releasability and silicone oil resistance, the durability is excellent, and the image obtained by a copying machine wherein the roll is used becomes sharp.

A fixing belt is prepared by forming a layer of fluorosilicone rubber or fluorocarbon-siloxane rubber on the outer surface of an endless belt body. The fixing belt shows good toner release and minimal swell with silicone oil and is thus helpful in producing electrophotographic quality images.

In a polypropylene resin/silicone rubber integrally molded article, a polypropylene resin having an aliphatic unsaturated bond is integrally joined to an addition type silicone rubber at high bond strength. It is prepared by injection molding a modified polypropylene resin into a preform, injection molding a silicone rubber composition over the preform, and curing the composition at a temperature below the softening point of the polypropylene resin. Stronger bond is established when the silicone rubber contains a tackifier in the form of a compound containing in a molecule at least one hydrogen atom directly attached to a silicon atom and an alkoxysilyl, glycidyl or acid anhydride group or a --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- linkage.

Gasket-sealed casing for fixed disc memory unit

A method of chucking semiconductor wafers, in which a silicone elastic layer with high flatness is formed on the surface of a hard substrate having fine through-holes for vacuum chucking. Next fine through-holes in the silicone elastic layer, are provided, each through-hole communicating with the fine through-holes of the hard substrate. Next a semi-conductor wafer is held on the hard substrate by vacuum chucking from the back side of the substrate, so as to hold the semiconductor wafer securely on the substrate only by surface adhesion of the silicone elastic layer during polishing of the wafer. This method does not require wax or similar adhesive for holding the semiconductor wafer on the hard surface during the polishing process, and can realize a high-precision and high-quality surface polishing process for the semiconductor wafers.

Method of chucking semiconductor wafers

A cover-gasket assembly for a hard disk device which comprises a gasket applied to a predetermined position of a cover for the hard disk device, wherein the gasket is formed essentially of a cured product of a fluorosilicone rubber composition. The assembly is particularly excellent in sealing property against permeation of water vapor, and can be used extremely effectively for hard disk devices for handy office-automation apparatuses such as laptop or pocket-size personal computers, word processors and the like which are expected to be used under various temperature and humidity conditions.

Cover-gasket assembly for hard disk device

An improvement is proposed in the assemblage of a cover-packing bult-up body for a magnetic hard-disc unit to be freed from the troubles caused by dusts or contamination of the gap space between the magnetic recording disc and the magnetic head as well as by the poor vibration-damping characteristics of the rubber packing between the covering member and the body of the casing. The improvement comprises, instead of using a pre-shaped rubber packing, the built-up body is assembled by using a curable liquid silicone rubber-based composition filled with fine hollow microspheres to form a packing on the surface of the covering member by the in situ curing of the composition applied thereto so that the rubbery packing layer has a spongy structure exhibiting good vibration-damping characteristics.

Integral packing/covering member for hard-disc unit

A method of producing a cover-packing assembly for a hard disk device is disclosed which comprises applying a liquid self-adhesive silicone rubber material to a predetermined position of a cover member, and curing the rubber material. According to the method, the formation of a packing member and the adhesion of the packing member to the cover member are performed simultaneously on the cover member. Thus, use of a pressure sensitive adhesive, an adhesive or the like, as in the case of employing a packing member comprising a molded or die-cut product, is unnecessary in this method, which is extremely advantageous.

Method of producing cover-packing assembly for hard disk device

Different from a conventional casing for fixed disc memory assembly constructed by conjoining two covering members at the flanges by sandwiching a gasket prepared by punching a sheet of a spongy rubber, the invention proposes a covering member in which a gasket of a solid silicone rubber is adhesively and integrally bonded to the flange thereof in advance so that the fixed disc memory assembly can be constructed with greatly improved work-ability in addition to the advantage obtained by the absence of any tiny rubber particles formed by pubching of a spongy rubber sheet as the dusts to cause serious troubles. The gasket may be shaped either by a conventional rubber molding method and bonded to the flange using a silicone-based adhesive or may be formed by the techniques of the so-called FIPG method.

Covering member for casing of fixed disc memory unit

The invention provides an electrically insulating spacer sheet of a silicone rubber used as sandwiched between a heat-generating electric or electronic device or unit, e.g. power transistor, and a heat radiator capable of dissipating the heat with improved heat conductivity. Different from conventional ones, the inventive spacer sheet has coating layers on both surfaces formed of a non-volatile flowable or deformable silicone material so that the condition of adhesive contacting can be greatly improved and the resistance against thermal flow across the spacer sheet can be decreased very much.

Electrically insulating sheet with good heat conductivity

The present invention provides a unique solution of the difficult problem in the prior art that no efficient peelable release paper is available for temporarily protecting the sticky surface of the adhesive sheet material, e.g. adhesive tapes, adhesive labels, stickers and the like, from inadvertent sticking to an undesired surface when the sticking agent on the adhesive sheet is a silicone-based one. The inventive adhesive sheet material with temporarily protecting covering sheet is formed by use of a sheet of a hydrophilic material such as cellophane impregnated with water in a water content of at least 10% by weight as the temporarily protecting covering sheet. The thus hydrated protecting covering sheet is peelable with a relatively small peeling force without affecting the sticking power of the sticky surface of the adhesive sheet material.
