Provided is a microscope apparatus including: a microscope section configured to perform magnified observation of a subject's eye while obtaining a red reflex caused by irradiating a fundus of the subject's eye with illuminating light; a holding section configured to hold the microscope section; and a tilting section configured to tilt an illumination optical axis which is an optical axis of an illumination optical system, and an observation optical axis which is an optical axis of an observation optical system in the microscope section, around a tilt reference point in an interior of the subject's eye as a base point, while maintaining a substantially coaxial state between the illumination optical axis and the observation optical axis.

A general-purpose computer cross-authenticates an external storage medium which is detachably loaded in the general-purpose computer, directly storing copyrighted data from its internal storage means into the loaded external storage medium. An HDD, an internal storage means of the general-purpose computer, holds such data protected by copyright as music data. A memory card driver directly cross-authenticates a memory card, which is an external storage medium, and, upon successful cross-authentication, controls the memory card so that it stores the data from the HDD.

The invention provides an information processing apparatus wherein a CCD video camera incorporated therein is prevented from being damaged and can fetch an image not only from the front but also from above and from the rear of the information processing apparatus. A remote-controlling commander includes a rotary dial rotatably mounted on a commander housing for manual operation of the user. The commander also includes a position detector for monitoring angular position of the rotary dial, in which the angular position and/or angular displacement of the rotary dial represents which operation of the apparatus is to be controlled and an encoder for producing an encoded signal variable depending upon the angular position and/or angular displacement of the rotary dial. The encoded signal is transmitted through a transmitter to a receiver provided in the apparatus to be controlled. The received signal is decoded in the apparatus to trigger the function represented by the received signal. The received signal from the remote-controlling commander may be used to perform functions associated with a VTR, such as timing of video recording, picture searching, channel timing, and the like.
