An intermediate heat exchangerincludes a double tubeand a liquid reservoir. The double tubehas an outer tubeand an inner tubedisposed inside the outer tubewith a clearance formed therebetween. The clearance between the outer tubeand the inner tube serves as a high-temperature-side refrigerant passage, through which refrigerant of high pressure flowing out of a condenser flows, and the interior of the inner tubeserves as a low-temperature-side refrigerant passage, through which refrigerant of low pressure flowing out of an evaporator flows. The liquid reservoir, which communicates with the high-temperature-side refrigerant passageof the double tube, stores the refrigerant of high pressure flowing out of the condenser before the pressure of the refrigerant is reduced by a pressure reducer, and separate liquid-phase refrigerant and gas-phase refrigerant. The outer tubeof the double tubehas a refrigerant inletand a refrigerant outletcommunicating with the high-temperature-side refrigerant passage. At an intermediate position between the refrigerant inletand the refrigerant outlet, refrigerant flows from the high-temperature-side refrigerant passageof the double tubeinto the liquid reservoir, and returns from the liquid reservoirto the high-temperature-side refrigerant passage

A heat exchanger tube (), wherein a plurality of refrigerant passages () extending in the longitudinal direction of the tube are formed in a flat tube body () with a specified length parallel with each other in the lateral direction of the tube and, where the overall cross sectional area of the tube body () is (At), the overall cross sectional area of the refrigerant passage () is (Ac), the outer peripheral length of the tube body () is (L), and the overall inner peripheral length of the refrigerant passage () is (P), set so that the relation of Ac/At&#xd7;100=30 to 55 and P/L&#xd7;100=150 to 325 can be established, whereby a heat exchanging performance can be increased.

A metal plate for producing a flat tube including a metal body having a joint portion, first and second flat wall forming portions connected by the joint portion, reinforcing wall forming portions projecting from the first and second flat wall forming portions and extending in a longitudinal direction of the first and second flat wall forming portions, and side wall forming portions projecting from opposite side edges of the metal body, respectively. The joint portion has a ridge which makes the joint portion thicker than the first and second flat wall forming portions. The ridge, the reinforcing wall forming portions and the side wall forming portions are projecting in a same direction. The metal body bends into a hairpin shape at boundaries formed between the ridge of the joint portion and the first and second flat wall forming portions.

The evaporator includes the upper side and lower header membersanddisposed at the upper and lower end of the core. One end of each tubeconstituting the upstream-side tube group Pis connected to the inlet-side tank, while the other end to the lower header member. One end of each tubeconstituting the downstream-side tube group Pis connected to the outlet-side tank, while the other end to the lower header member. The refrigerant flowed into the inlet-side tankis introduced into the outlet-side tankby passing through the upstream-side tube group P, the lower header memberand the downstream-side tube group P, so that the refrigerant evaporates by exchanging heat with ambient air A. Accordingly, it improves the heat exchange performance and decreases the thickness.

Evaporator, manufacturing method of the same, header for evaporator and refrigeration system

This duplex-type heat exchanger is adapted to a vapor compression type refrigeration cycle in which a condensed refrigerant is decompressed and then evaporated. This duplex-type heat exchanger is integrally equipped with a subcooler S in which the condensed refrigerant exchanges heat with the ambient air A to be subcooled and an evaporator E in which the decompressed refrigerant exchanges heat with the ambient air A to be evaporated. Heat exchange is performed between the refrigerant passing through the subcooler S and the refrigerant passing through the evaporator E, to thereby cool the refrigerant in the subcooler S and heat the refrigerant in the evaporator E. Accordingly, according to this heat exchanger, a high refrigeration effect can be obtained while avoiding the pressure rise of the refrigerant.

Duplex-type heat exchanger and refrigeration system equipped with said heat exchanger

An evaporator comprises a pair of upper and lower horizontal header tanks, a group of heat exchange tubes arranged laterally of the evaporator in front and rear two rows and each connected to the upper header tank and the lower header tank respectively, and a vertical partition wall provided inside the upper header tank and extending laterally of the evaporator so as to form sectioned header chambers for causing a refrigerant to flow through each pair of front and rear adjacent heat exchange tubes in directions opposite to each other. An inlet is provided for a liquid-vapor mixture refrigerant in a sectioned rear header chamber, and an outlet is provided for vaporized refrigerant in a sectioned front header chamber. The evaporator is 3 to 30% in channel opening ratio.
