A high-density powdered detergent composition which has a bulk density of 0.6 to 1.2 g/ml and which comprises 0.5 to 30% by weight of (a) a glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivative, 5 to 45% by weight of (b) a nonionic surfactant having an HLB value of 10.5 to 15.0, 0.5 to 18% by weight of (c) an anionic surfactant and 1 to 30% by weight of (d) an aluminosilicate, each percentage being based on the total weight of the composition, and the weight ratio of the component (b) to the component (c) lying between 90:1 and 60:40. This composition contains both a glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivative which is a builder excellent in biodegradability and sequestering power and an inorganic builder such as zeolite or crystalline silicate, and exhibits high detergency.

High-density powdered detergent composition

A high-density powdered detergent composition which has a bulk density of 0.6 to 1.2 g/ml and which comprises 0.5 to 30% by weight of (a) a glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivative, 20 to 50% by weight of (b) an anionic surfactant, 0.5 to 5% by weight of (c) an ether-type nonionic surfactant having an HLB value of 10.5 to 15.0 and 1 to 30% by weight of (d) an aluminosilcate, each percentage being based on the total weight of the composition, and the component (c) being contained in an amount of 0.5 to 10.0 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the component (b). Method for producing superheavy oil emulsion fuel

A method for producing a superheavy oil emulsion fuel comprising the steps of (i) preparing a liquid mixture comprising a superheavy oil, water, one or more nonionic surfactants having an HLB (hydrophilic-lipophilic balance) of 13 to 19, and optionally one or more stabilizers, and then agitating the resulting liquid mixture with a high shear rate of 1000/sec to 60000/sec, to give an oil-in-water (O/W) type emulsion fuel having a superheavy oil concentration of from 74 to 82% by weight; and (ii) adding at least one of ionic dispersants, and optionally water, to the emulsion fuel obtained in step (i), and then blending and agitating the resulting liquid mixture with a shear rate of 10/sec to 10000/sec, to give an oil-in-water (O/W) type emulsion fuel having a superheavy oil concentration of from 68 to 79% by weight. In step (i), the nonionic surfactants are contained in an amount of from 0.1 to 0.8% by weight of the emulsion fuel obtained in step (i), and the stabilizers are contained in an amount of from 0.001 to 0.5% by weight of the emulsion fuel obtained in step (i). In step (ii), the ionic dispersants are contained in an amount of from 0.01 to 0.5% by weight of the emulsion fuel obtained in step (ii).

A super-heavy oil emulsion fuel is formed by emulsification using 100 parts by weight of super-heavy oil, 30-80 parts by weight of water, 0.01-4 parts by weight of an anionic surface activating agent, and a nonionic surface activating agent having an HLB (hydrophilic lipophilic balance) of 9-19 at an anionic surface activating agent/nonionic surface activating agent weight ratio of 1/99-75/25. The super-heavy oil emulsion fuel can also comprise 100 parts by weight of super-heavy oil, 30-80 parts by weight of water, 0.05-4 parts by weight of a nonionic surface active agent having an HLB of 9-19 and, optionally, 0.005-4 parts by weight of an anionic surface active agent.

A polymaleate having an average molecular weight of 300 to 5000 is obtained by polymerizing a monoalkali metal maleate or monoammonium maleate at 80.degree. to 180.degree. C. in the presence of a polymerization initiator in an aqueous solvent.

Novel salts of alkenylsuccinic monoesters represented by the following formulas (I) or (II): ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 represents a hydrocarbon group, R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, A represents an alkylene group having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, B represents a carbonyl group or a methylene group, M is a monovalent or divalent cation. The monoesters can be emulsion-polymerized under optimum conditions while varying the hydrophilic and oleophilic balance depending on the type of monomer because they have hydrophobic hydrocarbon groups and oleophilic carboxylate groups and ether bonds of polyalkyleneoxy groups. The compounds according to the invention are an excellent reactive surface active agent, and also useful as an improver or modifier for polymer because they can impart hydrophilicity to hydrophobic resins when they are used in larger amounts as in the case of reactive surface active agents employed for ordinary.
