A high-frequency generator circuit comprises a signal generating circuit, a delay unit, a selector, a synthesizer circuit, and a controller. The signal generating circuit generates a signal having the same frequency as an output signal. The delay unit includes a plurality of delay circuits, and delays the signal generated by the signal generating circuit. The selector selects an output signal of the delay circuits. The synthesizer circuit synthesizes the signal selected by the selector, and outputs the output signal. The controller controls the selector based on data for setting a waveform of the output signal and a control signal for setting at least amplitude, phase and frequency of the output signal.

An optical module capable of connecting signal lines to an external substrate easily without causing any degradation of the transmission characteristic is disclosed. The optical module comprises an optical element mounting block having an optical element mounting section and an optical fiber guide, and a wiring lead integrated resin substrate having a ferrule holding section, an optical element mounting block housing section, and wiring leads, where at least a part of the wiring leads are provided by signal lines in a coplanar guide structure entirely formed on the wiring lead integrated resin substrate such that a characteristic impedance does not change when the wiring leads are electrically connected to external wirings.

A phase lock loop circuit that can be formed into a full monolithic integrated circuit without an external component part, and that can maintain the phase locked state even for a consecutive identical bit state of input data including more than several tens of consecutive identical bits. The input data applied to a data input terminal is doubled in frequency by a doubler. A phase difference between the output of the doubler and that of a VCO is detected by a phase comparator, and is supplied to a low-pass filter through a sample and hold switch circuit. The low-pass filter produces a DC output corresponding to the phase difference, and supplies it to the frequency control terminal of the VCO. The output frequency of the VCO is controlled so that the phase difference becomes zero. The sample and hold switch circuit is maintained at the off state (holding mode) during the consecutive identical bit state to hold the output of the low-pass filter, so that the VCO continues that frequency at the beginning of the consecutive identical bit state.

An amplifier having an automatic threshold control circuit (ATC) and a limiting amplifier. The ATC detects and holds a top value (peak value) and bottom value of an input signal, and outputs the middle value between the top and bottom values as a reference voltage. The limiting amplifier amplifies the input signal in a linear operating region whose center is set at the reference voltage, thereby maintaining the output amplitude at a constant value. Even if the amplitude and the level of the input signals instantaneously changes by a large amount, the ATC can follow the change, so that the offset compensation and gain compensation of the amplifier can be achieved instantaneously. This makes it possible to continue producing the output of a constant amplitude with little phase deviations.

An amplifier circuit of this invention includes a first-stage amplifier, an amplifier element connected to the output terminal of the first-stage amplifier as a feedback load, and a further amplifier element connected between the output and input terminals of the amplifier element, and performs negative feedback through a load of the first-stage amplifier. As the amplifier element, a transistor is used, and as the further amplifier element, an emitter-follower transistor is used.
