A pedal operation amount detection apparatus comprising: a transmitting member that transmits a pedal operation force; a movement lever disposed so as to be movable with respect to the transmitting member; a sensor rod disposed so as to be connected to the transmitting member and the movement lever; and a deformable body that is disposed on the transmitting member and is deformed when the pedal operation force or a reaction force corresponding to the pedal operation force is transmitted from the movement lever to the deformable body, the pedal operation amount detection apparatus electrically detecting a pedal operation amount based on deformation of the deformable body, the sensor rod extending through both the movement lever and the deformable body, the pedal operation amount detection apparatus further comprising: a first locking portion provided at an end portion of the sensor rod on a side where the sensor rod protrudes from the deformable body; a second locking portion provided at an intermediate portion of the sensor rod between the deformable body and the movement lever; a first elastic member that is disposed between the second locking portion and the deformable body in a natural state or a compressed state when a pedal is not operated; and a second elastic member that is disposed to so as to be connected to the movement lever and the sensor rod, and urges the movement lever to cause the movement lever to contact the second locking portion, when the pedal is operated, a load in a direction to displace the sensor rod toward the first locking portion is applied from the movement lever to the second locking portion, the sensor rod being moved toward the first locking portion in a manner such that the first elastic member is elastically deformed between the second locking portion and the deformable body, and the deformable body being deformed.

Device for detecting amount of pedal operation

A pedal operation amount detection apparatus for an operation pedal apparatus that includes a transmitting member including a pedal arm of an operation pedal that is disposed to be pivotable about a support axis and subjected to a depressing operation, and an output member to which a depressing operation force is transmitted from the transmitting member and to which a reaction force corresponding to the depressing operation force is applied, the pedal operation amount detection apparatus includes a sensor member disposed on a load transmission path of the transmitting member and the reaction force and the pedal operation amount detection apparatus electrically detects deformation of the sensor member. The pair of mounting wall portions () are held in surface contact with a pair of rest surfaces (), formed in a sensor-mounting hole () in a fixed and positioned state. Thus, even if a direction of an input load (reactive force), applied to a clevis pin () varies with an operating pedalbeing progressively depressed, the pair of rest surfaces () always bear the input load via the pair of mounting wall portions (). This suppresses the case member () from flexure deforming due to stress concentration. As a result, positional displacement of a sensor is prevented regardless of a variation in the direction of the input load, improving detecting precision.

An operating pedal device for a vehicle includes an operating pedal mounted on a pedal support fixedly secured to a vehicle to be pivotable about an axis of a support shaft and operative to be depressed by a driver; a reactive member, connected to the operating pedal via at least one connecting section which allows relative pivotal movement therebetween about a connecting pin to which an output is transferred at a rate depending on an operational force of the operating pedal and which is applied with a reaction force corresponding to the output; and a load sensor electrically detecting the operational force.
