A device for determining the surface topology and associated color of a structure, such as a teeth segment, includes a scanner for providing depth data for points along a two-dimensional array substantially orthogonal to the depth direction, and an image acquisition means for providing color data for each of the points of the array, while the spatial disposition of the device with respect to the structure is maintained substantially unchanged. A processor combines the color data and depth data for each point in the array, thereby providing a three-dimensional color virtual model of the surface of the structure. A corresponding method for determining the surface topology and associate color of a structure is also provided.

Method and apparatus for colour imaging a three-dimensional structure

According to the invention, a method and system are provided for scanning, and for facilitating scanning of, an intraoral cavity. The target parts of the intraoral cavity that it is desired to have scanned are identified, and the spatial s relationships between a scanning device and the target parts of the intraoral cavity suitable for enabling said target parts to be scanned by said scanning device, are also identified or otherwise determined. These relationships are then displayed, and the displayed relationships are used as a guide for scanning the intraoral cavity.

System and method for scanning an intraoral cavity

Systems and methods for audio communication are disclosed. The system includes a plurality of transducer units and plurality of three dimensional sensor modules (TDSMs) adapted to be located in a plurality of sites/spaces to which service should be provided by the system. The plurality of transducer units are capable of emitting/directing and focusing ultra-sonic signals to respective coverage zones in the sites, such that localized (confined) sound field can be formed at selected spatial position in the coverage zones by utilizing sound from ultrasound technique. The TDSMs are associated with respective sensing volumes in the sites and are operable to obtain sensory data indicative of the 3D arrangement of elements in a within the sites. The system includes: (i) user detection module for processing the sensory data from the TDSMs to determine spatial location of a user within the sensing volumes; (ii) a mapping module providing spatial mapping between the sensing volumes and the coverage zones; and (iii) output sound generator adapted to utilize the spatial mapping to selecting a transducer unit for serving the user, and operating the selected transducer to produce the localized sound field in close vicinity to the user's head/ear(s).

A method for determining surface characteristics of an intraoral structure may include illuminating an intraoral structure with light of a first light source passing through focusing optics and capturing depth image data during the illumination with the first light source of light from the intraoral structure passing through the focusing optics. The method may also include illuminating the intraoral structure with a second light source and capturing two-dimensional image data during the illumination with the second light source. Depth data of the intraoral structure may be generated using the depth image data and the two-dimensional image data may be mapped to the depth data.

Method and apparatus for imaging a three-dimensional structure

A system for determining the surface topology and associated color of at least a portion of a three-dimensional structure includes a hand-held device. A scanning system may be configured to provide depth data of the portion. An imaging system may be configured to provide two-dimensional color image data of the portion associated with the plurality of data points. A processor may be operably coupled to the hand-held device and configured to associate the depth data with the color image data.

Method and apparatus for structure imaging a three-dimensional structure

A system and method for producing virtual binaural audio space are disclosed. In some implementations, the method includes providing staged audio data indicative of an audio data piece and of a relative position of a virtual source from which the audio data piece should be perceived by a designated listener; determining a position (e.g. location and orientation) of a head of user, which designated to be the listener; and transmitting one or more ultrasound fields towards a one or more selected audio center points located in the vicinity of the user's head for producing, via sound from ultrasound effect, left and right audible sound fields carrying the audio data piece to the left and right ears of the user respectively. According to some implementations, at least one parameter of the one or more ultrasound fields are controlled based on the relative position of the virtual source and the position of the user's head, such that a difference between the respective left and right audible sound fields is perceived by the user as an audible sound field propagating to the user from the relative position of the virtual source.

An apparatus adapted for confocal imaging of a non-flat specimen comprising a coherent light source for producing a light beam, imaging optics adapted to focus the light beam into at least one spot on a surface of a specimen, and a detector adapted to receive and detect light reflected from the specimen surface. The imaging optics comprise at least one optical component located so that the light reflected from the specimen surface passes therethrough on its way to the detector. The optical component is movable so as to move the at least one spot, within a range of movement, to a number of distinct locations in a plane perpendicular to the apparatus' optical axis, within the detector's integration time.
