A rack-wall computing and/or data storage system includes computing and/or storage devices mounted in enclosures; the enclosures are also mounted in one or more device chassis that fit into one or more vertical slots of an open-faced mounting structure. The mounting structure is free of vertical or horizontal supports on a front side, which allows for a greater density of enclosures (and therefore computing or storage devices) to be mounted in a given volume of space, as compared to conventional racks that include vertical supports at repeating intervals (e.g., every 24 inches). Also, a given device chassis can be extracted from the mounting structure, via the open front face, using a rail system, wherein in the extracted position, the enclosures are accessible for servicing on at least two sides (e.g., front and back).

Compute and/or storage rack-wall

Systems and methods for providing and using a liner including one or more rigid over-molds for a chassis of a computing device cooled with a liquid fluid are disclosed. The liner may include a flexible membrane configured to be positioned in a chassis to form a liquid barrier that retains a liquid cooling fluid and one or more rigid over-molds configured to align components in fixed positions relative to other respective components or the chassis. The rigid over-molds may be located on the interior and/or the exterior of the liner to fixedly couple to components and/or the chassis. A set of over-molds may also be configured to enable insertion of connectors exterior to the liner, wherein a first rigid over-mold on the interior of the liner may be aligned with a second rigid over-mold on the exterior of the liner.

A rack may include a frame having vertical uprights and transverse members coupled together so as to form boundaries of an internal volume of the rack. The boundaries may include a first lateral face, a second lateral face, a front face, and a back face. A cartridge can be installed forward or rearward of the front face and laterally inward from the first lateral face or the second lateral face. Cables may be connected between the cartridge and a plurality of appliances. The cables may include a first cable extending between the cartridge and a first appliance supported by the rack. The cables may further include a second cable extending between a second appliance and the cartridge so as to establish a signal path between the first appliance and the second appliance through the first cable, the cartridge, and the second cable.

A commonly designed processor heat exchanger decouples the mounting hardware used to mount the heat exchanger to a processor from the heat exchanger itself. This allows a single heat exchanger design to be mounted to various different types of processors using processor customized mounting brackets that engage with flanges extending out from a body of the heat exchanger.

A computing equipment box assembly can include a chassis base and a tray. The chassis base can include a bottom panel, an opening through the bottom panel, and a rim defined around the opening. The tray can include a body configured for supporting computing components, a frame section of the body sized to be supported atop the rim of the chassis base; and a downwardly embossed portion of the body extending downwardly from the rim and sized to fit within the opening of the chassis base when the frame section is supported atop the rim of the chassis base.
