Techniques described herein are directed to intelligently identifying items for resale based on digital records of past purchases. A computing system of a payment processing service can analyze digital record(s) of a user that are representative of previous purchase(s) of the user. Based at least partly on analyzing the digital record(s), an item previously purchased by the user can be identified as a candidate for resale to another user. The computing system can monitor marketplace(s), and can determine, based at least partly on monitoring the marketplace(s), item information for the item. The computing system can create, based at least partly on the item information, a listing for an ecommerce channel that enables the user to sell the item. The listing can include an actuation mechanism that enables the other user to purchase the item, a transaction for which can be processed by the payment processing service.

Intelligently identifying items for resale

Sever-based order persistence and/or fulfillment is described herein. In an example, server(s) associated with a payment processing service may receive, from a point-of-sale (POS) device associated with a merchant, an order associated with at least one item available for purchase from a physical location of the merchant. The server(s) may store the order in a storage data structure. In an example, the server(s) may determine an occurrence of a trigger event and may update a status of the order based at least in part on the trigger event. In some examples, the trigger event may correspond to an interruption in a connection with the POS device, fulfillment of the order, etc. The status of the order can indicate whether the order is to be sent to the POS device, removed from the storage data structure, etc.

Server-based order persistence and/or fulfillment

This disclosure describes techniques for performing intelligent rebalancing of items between physical locations of merchants and replenishment of items for physical locations of merchants. The techniques include the use of a payment service that provides various services for merchants and obtains information associated with transactions of the merchants, employees of the merchants, and vendors of the merchants. Harnessing the information and knowledge associated with the variety of merchants, the payment service may intelligently automate the rebalancing items between physical locations, such as by moving items from a physical location of the merchant with a lower rate of sale to another physical location of the merchant with a higher rate of sale. Similarly, the payment service may intelligently automate replenishment of items by generating orders to have vendors fulfill needed quantities of items at locations of merchants.

Intelligent inventory management

Sever-based order persistence and/or fulfillment is described herein. Server(s) associated with a payment processing service may receive, from a first point-of-sale (POS) device located at a first physical location of a merchant, a record identifying an item that a customer intends to purchase from the merchant. The server(s) may change an inventory status of a data item corresponding to the item in an inventory data structure associated with an inventory of the merchant to indicate that the item is reserved for the customer. Subsequently, the server(s) may receive, from a second POS device remotely located from the first POS device, a request for the item and may determine that the inventory status of the data item indicates that the item is reserved for the customer. The server(s) may manage the inventory such to enable the merchant to determine how to fulfill the multiple requests from multiple disparately located customers.
