An armrest assembly for use on a vehicle seat and a method of manufacturing an armrest assembly that includes a co-extruded pendulum having a rigid core and at least one soft bumper. The pendulum operatively engages armrest components to selectively restrict opening of a lid on the armrest assembly.

A retaining arrangement for a vehicle seat that has a support structure and a cover material includes a first leg having at least one first retention feature, and a second leg connected to the first leg. The second leg includes a plurality of second retention features positioned along a length of the second leg. The second leg is configured to cooperate with the first leg to capture a portion of the support structure between the first leg and second leg.

Retaining arrangement for a vehicle seat

A seat assembly is provided with a seat bottom adapted to mount to a vehicle. The seat assembly further includes a first seat back pivotally attached to the seat bottom defining a recline angle relative to the seat bottom, and a second seat back pivotally attached to the seat bottom proximate to the first seat back defining a recline angle relative to the seat bottom. A pin is pivotally connected to the second seat back, is sized to be received within a latch mechanism on the first seat back, and is operably connected to the second seat back to pivot to a stowed position when the first seat back is pivoted to a recline angle that is less than the second seat back recline angle.

A vehicle seat assembly including a lower seat cushion supported by the vehicle and a seat back supported for movement between an upright position and a stowed position. The seat assembly also has a headrest supported for movement relative to the seat back. A locking mechanism engages the headrest to retain the headrest in a raised position when the seat back is in the upright position. The locking mechanism also disengages the headrest for allowing movement of the headrest away from the raised position when the seat back is moved toward the stowed position. The seat assembly also has a biasing mechanism that biases the headrest toward the raised position.

The present invention discloses a folding seat assembly for a vehicle having a floor, comprising a seat cushion mounted to said vehicle floor and a seat back independent of said seat cushion and pivotally mounted on tracks to allowing said seat back to be moved away from said seat cushion and folded forward into a substantially horizontal position producing a cargo area over said folded seat. The folding seat assembly being mountable in a vehicle without modification to the vehicle floor pan or the need for special mounting brackets to provide a seat storage area.

Independent back slide and stow

A seat assembly for mounting on a vehicle floor includes a seat bottom and at least one panel movably attached to the seat bottom. The panel is movable between a storage position adjacent the seat bottom, and a deployed position extending outwardly from the seat bottom such that the panel is in a generally horizontal position to form a flat load floor above the vehicle floor.

A seat assembly for a vehicle that has a rear seat positioned behind the seat assembly. The seat assembly includes a seat bottom that is movable between a seating position and a forward position. In the seating position, the seat bottom is in a generally horizontal position for supporting an occupant seated on the seat assembly. In the forward position the seat bottom is in a generally vertical position such that a rear edge of the seat bottom is positioned above a front edge of said seat bottom. The seat assembly also has a seat back that is movable between a seating position and a second position. In the seating position the seat back is in a generally lateral position relative to the vehicle for supporting an occupant seated on said seat assembly. In the second position the seat back extends longitudinally relative to the vehicle to permit access to a rear seat positioned behind said seat assembly.

A seat assembly for a vehicle includes a seat bottom and seat back which are movable to provide access to a third row seat. The seat bottom is movable between a seating position, wherein the seat bottom is in a generally horizontal position for supporting an occupant seated on the seat assembly, and a forward position. In the forward position, the seat bottom is in a generally vertical position such that a rear edge of the seat bottom is positioned above a front edge of the seat bottom. The seat assembly also includes a seat back movable between a seating position, wherein the seat back is in a generally vertical position for supporting an occupant seated on the seat assembly, and a second position. In the second position, the seat back is positioned upwardly and forwardly relative to the seating position of the seat back.
