A lubricant composition containing a vegetable oil, a degreasing agent, and a non-ionic surfactant. The vegetable oil may be soybean oil, the degreasing agent may be ethyl lactate, and the non-ionic surfactant may comprise sorbitan esters, polyethoxylated sorbitan esters, or a combination thereof. Also provided is a wellbore servicing fluid containing a base fluid and the lubricant composition containing vegetable oil, degreasing agent, and non-ionic surfactant. Methods of introducing the lubricant composition and wellbore servicing fluids containing the lubricant composition into a subterranean zone (e.g., into a wellbore disposed in a subterranean formation) are also provided.

Non-greasing lubricant for high salinity fluids

A variety of methods and compositions are disclosed, including, in one example, a method that includes introducing a drill-in fluid into a production zone of a subterranean formation, where the drill-in fluid includes water, a hydrophobically modified starch, a dual oil and water soluble surfactant, and a bridging agent, extending a borehole through the production zone, and forming a filter cake in the production zone where the filter cake includes a plurality of oleophilic channels is formed within the filter cake.

Active filter cake component for reservoir drill-in fluids to eliminate acid treatment

Invert emulsions can be used in oil and gas operations. A fluid loss control additive (FLCA) is a component of the fluid that can be utilized to control or minimize fluid loss into a subterranean formation. The FLCA can be a chemically modified vegetable oil that is biodegradable. Vegetable oils having some or all of the functional groups sulfonated can be used as FLCA. A water-soluble salt that has been dissolved in the discontinuous phase of the invert emulsion can combine with the FLCA to form a wax-like, solid mass.

Modified vegetable oil as fluid loss control additive

A method of drilling is disclosed that includes introducing a water-based drilling fluid into a drill string disposed within a wellbore, circulating the water-based drilling fluid through the drill string and the wellbore, and extending the wellbore using the drill string while circulating the water-based drilling fluid, wherein the water-based drilling fluid includes water and a lubricating additive including a de-oiled cake, wherein the de-oiled cake are residues obtained after extraction of oil from a plant source, wherein the de-oiled cake is in particulate form having a particle size of 100 microns or less. A composition is disclosed that includes water-based drilling fluid including water and a lubricant additive comprising a de-oiled cake, wherein the de-oiled cake are residues obtained after extraction of oil from a plant source and wherein the de-oiled cake has a particle size of 100 microns or less.

Sustainable solid lubricant for drilling fluid

Methods and compositions for using lubricants in subterranean formations, and specifically lubricants that comprise certain oils, surfactants and solvents, and methods for their use, are provided. In one embodiment, the methods include introducing a treatment fluid that includes a base fluid and a lubricant including at least one vegetable oil, at least one nonionic surfactant, and at least one cosolvent into at least a portion of a subterranean formation.

Lubricant for monovalent and divalent brines

Compositions and methods for use in subterranean treatment fluids involving thermoassociative polymers are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include providing a treatment fluid that includes an aqueous base fluid, one or more thermoassociative polymers that include a water soluble polymeric backbone having one or more hydrophobic moieties attached to the polymer backbone, wherein the thermoassociative polymer exhibits thermoassociation at a first temperature T, and one or more tuning additives that changes the temperature at which at least one of the thermoassociative polymers exhibits thermoassociation from Tto a second temperature T'; and introducing the treatment fluid into a portion of a subterranean formation.

Thermoassociative polymers in subterranean treatment fluids

A method of treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore, wherein the subterranean formation comprises one or more permeable zones, comprising introducing a superabsorbent polymer (SAP) fluid into the wellbore, wherein the SAP fluid comprises an aqueous fluid and an SAP material comprising a reaction product of a reaction mixture comprising one or more viscosifying polymeric materials, one or more crosslinking agents, and water, allowing the SAP fluid to flow into at least a portion of the one or more permeable zones in the subterranean formation, and allowing the SAP material to absorb water and form a swollen SAP material, wherein the swollen SAP material impedes fluid flow through at least a portion of the one or more permeable zones.

Methods of making and using a superabsorbent polymer fluid

Methods of treating a subterranean formation with treatment fluids containing novel fluid loss control additives comprising alkylpolyglucoside derivatives for treatment fluids are disclosed. In certain embodiments, the methods comprise providing a treatment fluid comprising an emulsion comprising an oleaginous phase and a non-oleaginous phase, a fluid loss control additive comprising an alkylpolyglucoside derivative; introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore. Fluid loss control additives, drilling fluids, and systems suitable for use therewith are also provided.
