The present invention is directed to a method for determining vehicular speeds over various travel routes that includes the steps: (a) for a plurality of mobile communication devices, determining a respective first geographic location at a first time and a second geographic location at a second later time; (b) determining a respective velocity for each cellular communication device over the distance between the first and second geographic locations; and (c) based on the respective velocities, providing to a driver at least one of (I) a velocity over a selected travel route, (ii) a traffic volume over the selected travel route, and (iii) an estimated time of travel over the selected travel route.

The present, in one embodiment, is directed to a method for determining vehicular speeds over various travel routes that includes the steps:

An answer on hold notification feature is provided. The answer on hold notification feature is activated when a call is waiting for servicing by a human agent. For example the feature may be activated when the call is placed on hold by the user of the first communication endpoint. By providing an answer on hold notification signal feature, a user can engage in a second call, or perform other tasks, without the risk of losing an opportunity to speak with a human agent as a result of attending to such other call or task.

A wireless access point in an object location system is provided that includes a tag filtering agentoperable to (a) receive tag information from a mobile communication device, (b) compare the received tag information with a set of a plurality of tag information to determine whether to report the received tag information to a central registry; and (c) when appropriate report the received tag information and physical location information to the central registry. The tag information corresponds to tag information contained by a tagon an object and was obtained by a tag readeron the mobile communication device.
