A cloud-based content object management system responds to download requests from user devices to provide access to synchronization code. Using the synchronization code, a user device requests, receives, and stores a user-device-local copy of a subject content object. The cloud-based content object management system determines that at least one security-related parameter pertaining to the subject content object has undergone a change and reaches a determination that the user-device-local copy of the subject content object is to be either deleted or quarantined. Upon such determination, the cloud-based content object management system forms eviction instructions and sends them to the user device, which in turn causes deletion or quarantining of the remote content object copy at the user device, while still retaining directory structure metadata that refers to the now evicted subject content object. The subject content object stored at the cloud-based content object management system is synchronized with other user devices.

In one implementation, a wireless network device is automatically accessed and configured through a mobile device. The mobile device receives provisioning data encoded for installation and operation of a network device and decodes the provisioning data to identify at least one access parameter for the network device. The mobile device accesses a wireless network of the network device according to the access parameter. Once access has been established, the mobile device transmits a configuration signal including a network configuration setting through the wireless network to the network device for the installation of the network device. The network device is provisioned based on the network configuration setting.

Techniques are provided to load balance point of presence traffic for a group of network devices, such as switches, that are configured to support network connectivity in a wired network for client devices that roam between wireless access points served by the respective switches. The point of presence traffic may tend to be allocated to a particular switch due to network topology, whereby the switch may be located at a building entrance and therefore receive the majority of new association requests for mobile devices entering the building. Load is monitored by each switch and load information is exchanged between the switches. Requests and responses are exchanged between the switches such that point of presence responsibility may be transferred to switches with a lighter load.
