A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a beam sweeping service is provided. The service may include generating multiple and different synchronization signal block burst sets that have different periodicities. The synchronization signal block burst sets may have different priorities based on one or multiple criteria. The one or multiple criteria may include radio beam utilization. The service may also include a multi-tier random access based on the multi-tier synchronization signal block burst sets.

Method and system for beam sweeping

A base station may include a processor configured to configure a default time period for periodic service requests for discontinuous reception (DRX) for user equipment (UE) devices serviced by the base station. The processor may be further configured to obtain a signal quality value for a UE device serviced by the base station; determine that the obtained signal quality value is less than a low signal quality threshold; and configure a longer time period for the periodic service requests for DRX for the UE device, in response to determining that the obtained signal quality value is less than the low signal quality threshold.

Systems and methods for dynamic periodic service requests for discontinuous reception

In some implementations, a device may receive cell information regarding a current primary cell associated with a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE is further associated with a plurality of secondary cells. The device may determine, based on the cell information, that the UE is to be associated with a new primary cell, wherein the new primary cell is selected from the plurality of secondary cells. The device may generate configuration information indicating that: a particular secondary cell, of the plurality of secondary cells, is to become the new primary cell, and one or more other secondary cells, of the plurality of secondary cells, are to remain secondary cells. The device may provide, to the UE, the configuration information to configure the UE to communicate via the new primary cell.

Systems and methods for efficiently causing a secondary cell to become a primary cell

A device may receive information from a unified database, wherein the information includes a Service Profile Identifier (SPID); select a Quality-of-Service (QoS)-related identifier (ID) at least based on the SPID; and either map a radio bearer to a flow associated with a User Equipment device (UE) or configure a component to map the radio bearer to the flow. After mapping the radio bearer to the flow, the device may send data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS related ID. After configuring the component, the device may forward the SPID to a second component for sending the data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS-related ID.

Systems and methods for multi-dimensional differentiation of radio access networks

A base station device dynamically adjusts the configuration of a special slot when operating in a time division duplexing (TDD) mode. The base station can initially communicate with a user equipment (UE) using a first frequency in a time division duplexing (TDD) mode. Using, for example, a timing advance procedure, the base station can determine when the UE requires an expanded cell range (e.g., if the UE is at the cell range edge). In response, the base station adjusts a configuration of a special slot for the UE. The adjustment to the special slot can comprise an addition of a gap symbol, a prioritizing of uplink transmissions over downlink transmissions, or a reserving of one or more downlink symbols during scheduling.

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which an component carrier management service is provided. The service may monitor data pertaining to a transmit power of an end device and a component carrier of a carrier aggregation. Based on the monitoring, the service may determine when the end device is at or near a maximum transmit power. The service may perform a mitigation procedure to prevent or minimize the end device shutting off a component carrier in a radio transmitter chain.

The system may further use AI/ML techniques to generate interference models to reflect types and/or amounts of radio frequency (&#x201c;RF&#x201d;) interference measured within the RAN. The system may further determine, based on received RF metrics for a given sector, a particular interference model associated with the sector. Based on a sector model associated with the sector and the determined interference model, one or more actions may be determined in order to remediate any potential interference associated with the sector or surrounding sectors.

Systems and methods for interference management in a radio access network

A system described herein may provide for the use of artificial intelligence/machine learning ('AI/ML') techniques to model energy usage information and energy saving techniques in various locations or regions (e.g., sectors) associated with one or more radio access networks ('RANs') of a wireless network. The system may determine energy saving techniques, such as radio frequency (&#x201c;RF&#x201d;) transmission modification in time and/or frequency domains, antenna mode modification, cell sleep mode, beamforming parameters, and/or other suitable techniques to modify energy consumption at such sectors. The system may balance energy savings with maintaining Quality of Service (&#x201c;QoS&#x201d;) metrics at an acceptable level.

A system and method provide for receiving an indication that a user device has been inactive; accessing a configuration table; identifying, based on the configuration table, a number of user devices that can be in an RRC inactive state; determining a current number of user devices that are in the RRC inactive state; transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state when the current number of user devices is less than the threshold number of user devices; determining a priority associated with the user device when the current number equals the threshold number; and transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state based on the priority of the user device.

System and method of radio resource management for radio access networks

Systems and methods provide for receiving a cell signal of a frequency band via a 5G/New Radio (5G/NR) carrier, wherein a user device includes a 5G/NR modem and a 4G/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) modem; determining that the frequency band is a shared spectrum carrier; forwarding the cell signal from a radio frequency (RF) element of the user device to the 5G/NR modem and the 4G/LTE modem; using, based on the forwarded cell signal, the 4G/LTE modem to identify one or more RF signals from one or more cells, wherein the one or more RF signals include a 4G/LTE carrier in the frequency band; and directing the 4G/LTE modem to notify the 5G/NR modem of the one or more RF signals.

Method and system for interference cancellation in spectrum sharing radio environments

A system described herein may provide a scheduling technique for physical radio frequency ('RF') resources of a base station of a radio access network ('RAN') of a wireless network. Resources for a first group of User Equipment (&#x201c;UEs&#x201d;) may be allocated during or prior to a first time slot, and the UEs may be notified during the first time slot of the allocated resources. The allocated resources may be provided during a subsequent second time slot. A second group of UEs may be notified, during the first time slot, of physical RF resources allocated for downlink data for the second group of resources, and such downlink data may be provided to the second group of UEs during the first time slot via the allocated physical RF resources. The assignments of the UEs to the respective groups may change over time based on network load or other metrics.
