In some implementations, a mobile device may determine a set of target orientations of the mobile device in which an antenna lobe of the mobile device is pointed toward the satellite, the set of target orientations based on: an orientation of the antenna lobe relative to the mobile device, and a location of the satellite relative to the mobile device. The mobile device may determine a current orientation of the mobile device. The mobile device may provide, at a user interface (UI) of the mobile device, guidance for rotating the mobile device from the current orientation to an orientation within the set of target orientations.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may transfer to a suppress mode based at least in part on determining that a condition associated with the suppress mode is satisfied. In some aspects, the wireless communication device may suppress, during the suppress mode, generation of a notification by a modem of the wireless communication device that is to provide network status information to a particular processor of the wireless communication device. Apparatus and methods for power management in a wireless communication device include detecting a change in a serving cell for data communication from a first cell to a second cell; determining whether a terminal equipment (TE) is in a low power state; detecting a first technology type of the first cell and a second technology type of the second cell; determining whether the second technology type is a different technology mode than the first technology type; sending a cell change notification to a data processor associated with the TE when the second technology type is in the different technology mode than the first technology type and the TE is not in a low power state; and suppressing the sending of the cell change notification when the second technology type is not in the different technology mode and the TE is in the low power state.
