A foamable composition comprising from 60 to 99.88% by weight (% wt.) of at least one poly(aryl ether sulfone), from 0.10 to 10.00% by weight (% wt.) of at least one olefinic polymer, from 0.01 to 5.00% by weight (% wt.) of at least one tetrazole compound and from 0.01 to 2.50% by weight (% wt.) of at least one additive selected from the group of titanium dioxide (TiO2), clays, talc, silicates, silica, aluminates, barites, titanates, borates, nitrides, carbon-based materials or combinations thereof, all % wt. are relative to the total weight of the composition (C). Foam materials

A foam material made from a composition [composition (C)] comprising at least one high temperature poly(aryl ether sulfone) (PAES) polymer characterized in that the PAES polymer comprises from 1 to 99% by weight amount of at least one recurring unit (R) [(R&#x2212;1)]) based on the total amount of recurring units, and from 1 to 99% by weight amount of at least one recurring unit (R) [(R&#x2212;2)], based on the total amount of recurring units, and wherein said (R&#x2212;2) recurring unit is different from the (R&#x2212;1) recurring unit.

High temperature sulfone (HTS) foam materials

The invention is related to a disposable contact lens comprising a top coating which is made of a hydrophilic polymeric material including dangling hydrophilic polymer chains covalently linked to the hydrophilic polymeric material through oligo-caprolactone linkages susceptible to enzymatic degradation in the eyes. The top coating is stable to lens processing/storage and confers lubricity to the lens. However, it slowly is degraded during the lens wear due to the action of enzymes (e.g., Lipase) in tear film. The loss in lubricity will be experienced as a drop in comfort for the lens wearer and thereby serves as the built-in compliance features of the disposable contact lens.

Contact lenses with enzymatically degradable coatings thereon

The instant invention pertains to a method for producing contact lenses with improved oxidative stability of Carotenoids in the contact lens. The method of the invention involves adding a vitamin E material into a contact lens in an amount sufficient to reduce oxidative degradation of Carotenoids in the lens by at least about 30% in comparison with an identical contact lens without the vitamin E material.
