A method for estimating and managing life of a gas turbine is provided. The method includes estimating a remaining useful life of a component of a gas turbine, obtaining parameters of the gas turbine, at least one of which comprises the estimate of the remaining useful life of a component of the gas turbine, assigning operating weightages to the gas turbine parameters based a plant objective, generating a set point for operating the gas turbine based on the weighted gas turbine parameters, and adjusting an operating characteristic of the gas turbine to meet the set point.

System and method for predicting and managing life consumption of gas turbine parts

A turbomachine component includes a body having a first end that extends to a second end. One of the first and second ends includes a mounting element, and a mounting component. A cover plate is arranged at the one of the first and second ends to establish an interface region. The cover plate includes a mounting member configured to align with the mounting element, and a mounting portion configured to align with the mounting element. A fastener member is configured and disposed to cooperate with the mounting element and the mounting member to constrain the cover plate to the body along at least two axes with the interface region being devoid of a metallurgical bond.

The present application provides an inner nozzle platform. The inner nozzle platform may include a platform cavity, an impingement plenum positioned within the platform cavity, a retention plate positioned on a first side of the impingement plenum, and a compliant seal positioned on a second side of the impingement plenum.

A seal carrier for a seal used between rotating and non-rotating components includes an arcuate sheet metal seal carrier body formed to include a stepped, conical configuration wherein an inner diameter at a forward end is larger than the diameter at an aft end, with plural stepped sections defined by alternating radial and axial portions between the forward end and the aft end. Each axial portion is adapted to carry a seal element, preferably a honeycomb seal. Mounting flanges are provided at the forward end and the aft end of the arcuate sheet metal seal carrier body to enable attachment to the non-rotating component.
