Systems and methods related to combing multiple images are disclosed. An example method of combining multiple images of a body structure includes capturing a first input image with a digital camera positioned at a first location at a first time point, representing the first image with a first plurality of pixels, capturing a second input image with the digital camera positioned at a second location at a second time point, representing the second image with a second plurality of pixels, generating a first feature distance map of the first input image, generating a second feature distance map of the second input image, calculating the positional change of the digital camera between the first time point and the second time point and utilizing the first feature distance map, the second feature distance map and the positional change of the digital camera to generate a three-dimensional surface approximation the body structure.

Method of multiple image reconstruction and registration

Systems and methods for modifying the luminance value of at least one image are discussed, e.g., including receiving a request to modify the luminance value of at least one image, determining a weighted frame luminance of the at least one image based on an imbalance factor, modifying the luminance value of the at least one image by changing at least one setting of the camera and/or the light source automatically or manually based on the determined weighted frame luminance, and causing to output to a graphical user interface a visualization of the at least one image with the modified luminance value.

Methods and devices are provided for determining anatomical distance and/or position measurements during an endoscopic procedure. Markings are placed either physically or superimposed on a distal end of an elongate tool, such that the markings are viewable in an imaging field of view of the endoscope. Anatomic distances may be determined by measurements performed with the tool. The size and/or position of anatomical structures or unknown objects may also be determined using the marked tool.

A fluid management and medical device system may include a fluid management system and a medical device having one or more sensors proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft of the medical device. The controller of the fluid management system may be configured to calculate a fluid deficit when the distal end of the elongate shaft is disposed within a patient and configured to automatically pause fluid deficit calculation when the distal end of the elongate shaft is removed from the patient. In some instances the controller is configured to calculate the fluid deficit using rotational speed of the inflow pump in combination with a difference between a change in weight of a fluid supply source supplying fluid to the fluid management system and a change in weight of a collection container collecting fluid from the fluid management system.

System and method for monitoring fluid deficit

A fluid management system may include an inflow pump configured to pump fluid from a fluid supply source to a treatment site within a patient at a flow rate; and a controller configured to operate at a target flow rate in a flow control mode. In the flow control mode, the controller may be configured to maintain the target flow rate while monitoring a measured pressure communicated to the controller from a pressure sensor. When the measured pressure reaches a preset pressure threshold, the controller may be configured to automatically switch from the flow control mode to a pressure override mode in which the controller automatically reduces the flow rate below the target flow rate to return the measured pressure at or below the preset pressure threshold.

An endoscopic system includes an endoscopic imager configured to capture image frames of a target site within a living body and a processor configured to apply a spatial transform to a preliminary set of image frames, the spatial transform converting the image frames into cylindrical coordinates; calculate a map image from the spatially transformed image frames, each pixel position in the map image being defined with a vector of fixed dimension; align a current image frame with the map image and apply the spatial transform to the current image frame; fuse the spatially transformed current image frame to the map image to generate a fused image; and apply an inverse spatial transform to the fused image to generate an enhanced current image frame having a greater spatial resolution than the current image frame. The system also includes a display displaying the enhanced current image frame.

System and method for endoscopic video enhancement, quantitation and surgical guidance

Systems and methods related to estimating the distance of a body structure from a medical device are disclosed. An example method includes illuminating the body structure with a light source of a medical device, capturing a first input image of the body structure with a digital camera positioned on the medical device, representing the first image with a first plurality of pixels, wherein the first plurality of pixels includes one or more pixels displaying a local intensity maxima, defining a first pixel group from the one or more pixels displaying a local intensity maxima, wherein the first pixel group corresponds to a plurality of surface points of the body structure and wherein the first pixel group further includes a first image intensity. The method further includes calculating a relative distance from the digital camera to a first surface point of the plurality of surface points.

Method of robust surface and depth estimation

An endoscopic system includes an endoscopic imager configured to capture images of a target site within a living body and a processor configured to determine one or more image metrics for each one of a plurality of image frames captured over a time span, analyze changes in the image metrics over the time span, and determine a turbidity metric for the target site based on the analyzed changes in the image metrics.

Example ultrasound medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device includes a support member having a proximal end region and a distal end region and a sensing member having a proximal end region and a distal end region, the distal end region of the sensing member coupled to the distal end region of the support member. The medical device also includes one or more ultrasound sensors disposed along the sensing member and a support shaft having a first end coupled to the sensing member and a second end coupled to the support member.
