Techniques are disclosed for performing an initialization process for a set of FOV sensors using a set of initialization modules that are attachable to or integrated with the set of FOV sensors. A vertical distance associated with the set of FOV sensors is detected. An inter-module distance between a first initialization module and a second initialization module is detected. It is determined whether a placement of the second initialization module with respect to the first initialization module is acceptable based on the vertical distance and the inter-module distance. A feedback signal indicating whether the placement is acceptable is generated. The feedback signal is outputted at one or both of the first initialization module and the second initialization module.

Self-initializing machine vision sensors

Systems, methods, and other techniques for providing dynamically responsive feedback to a transit user are disclosed. Location data regarding a plurality of locations of the transit user within a transit system may be detected by a tracking device. An intent to validate is received from the transit user. Based on the intent to validate, it is determined that a successful validation has occurred. Based on the location data, the plurality of locations are determined. Based on the plurality of locations, a location and a velocity of the transit user are determined. Instructions for a feedback signal are generated based on the location and the velocity. A feedback device positioned within the transit system is caused to output the feedback signal, indicating the successful validation.

Dynamically responsive real-time positioning feedback system

An overhead tracking system for tracking validation events including a plurality of validation devices that wirelessly receive an access token from a fare media device and validate the access token. The system includes an overhead tracking sensor that continuously tracks a position of each of a plurality of users passing underneath the sensor and receives an indication from at least one of the validation devices upon a user having successfully validated the access token from a fare media device associated with the user. The sensor detects when a particular one of the plurality of users has crossed into a feedback zone and sends a command to one or more remote devices based on detecting that the user has crossed into the feedback zone. The command and the remote devices are selected based on whether the user has successfully validated the access token.

Tracked ticket validation and feedback system

A multi-point validation device includes an elongate rail extending in a generally horizontal direction, a plurality of radio frequency antennas spaced apart along the length of the elongate rail, at least one reader module coupled with the plurality of radio frequency antennas, at least one visual indicator associated with each of the plurality of antennas and positioned proximate a corresponding one of the antennas, a processor, and a memory. The memory stores instructions that cause the processor to activate a single one of the radio frequency antennas, cause an indication that the single one of the radio frequency antennas is active to be produced by the at least one visual indicator associated with the single one of the radio frequency antennas, and receive data, at the at least one reader module, from at least one access media via the single one of the radio frequency antennas.

Light sequenced card validation

An incident avoidance system includes a plurality of imaging sensors and a neural computing system. The neural network computing system is configured to receive an image feed from at least one of the plurality of imaging sensors and analyze the image feed to identify a pattern of behavior exhibited by subjects within the image feed. The neural computing system is further configured to determine whether the identified pattern of behavior matches a known type of behavior and send a command to one or more remote devices. One or both of a type of the command or the one or more remove devices are selected based on a result of the determination whether the identified pattern of behavior matches a known type of behavior.

Automated scenario recognition and reporting using neural networks

A mobile communications device for providing proximity-based assistance includes a communications interface, a processor, and a memory that is configured to store instructions thereon that cause a processor to register, at a first time, a user of the mobile device as needing a type of assistance. The instructions also cause the processor to broadcast, at a second time, a request for assistance. The request includes the type of assistance needed. The request is broadcast to helper devices that are within a predetermined proximity of the user. Each of the helper devices is associated with a corresponding user that is registered to assist with the particular type of assistance needed. The instructions cause the processor to receive an indication from a helper device that the corresponding user has accepted the help request, determine that the corresponding user has assisted the user, and notify staff that the user has been assisted.

Proximity assisted seamless service (PASS)

A method for conducting environmental sampling includes determining to environmentally sample a particular paper transit ticket for a specific residue. Using an automated ticket device, at least one chemical reagent is applied to the particular paper transit ticket. The chemical reagent is selected based on the specific residue. The particular paper transit ticket is collected after the particular paper transit ticket was used as a fare media within a transit system. The at least one chemical reagent is analyzed to determine whether any of the specific residue is present.

Paper transit tickets as a medium for environmental sampling

Embodiments of the invention(s) described herein enable a system that may rely on a biometric identifier entry validation system The validation system uses biometric methods such as facial recognition, palm veins, and thumb prints as an entry or passage token. The validation system associates a form of fare media such as a smartcard or other electronic payment method with the biometric identifier after repeated transactions where both the fare media and the biometric identifier are read. In this manner the biometric identifier becomes a biometric token that replaces the need to use a form of fare media. Accordingly, the biometric identifier user can be validated for passage without the need to carry a form of fare media and, in some cases, in different geographic locations.
