A braking band extending between an inner diameter and an outer diameter has two plates facing each other and having inner surfaces delimiting a gap. The two plates are joined by connecting elements projecting from one of the two plates and reaching the opposite plate. A first series of fins of the connecting elements is each a fin which is in a single piece and extends from near the inner diameter to near the outer diameter and has a fin outer end portion having a predetermined extension along an outer circumferential width, and a fin inner end portion having a predetermined extension along an inner circumferential width. Considering a section taken along a section plane including the radial and circumferential directions, the outer circumferential width is greater than the inner circumferential width and the fin outer end portion of each fin faces only an adjacent fin on both sides in circumferential direction.

Braking band of a disc for disc brake of ventilated type

A disk brake disk has a bell made of a first material and a braking band made of a second material. The bell has a bell body having a radially outer bell body portion and forms a plurality of bell projections radially protruding from the radially outer bell body portion. Each bell projection has a projection base close to the radially outer bell body portion and a distal projection portion far from the radially outer bell body portion. A braking band body is coupled to the distal projection portion. Adjacent projection bases are joined to one another by a bell rib made in a single piece with the bell body and having an inner axial rib face and an outer axial rib face. The braking band body is coupled to the inner axial rib face, leaving the outer axial rib face free and externally facing the disk brake disk.

Disk brake disk, disk brake and manufacturing method

A braking band of a disc brake disc of a ventilated type unusually capable of avoiding vibrations which induce annoying squeals during the braking action. The braking band having two plates joined by connecting elements. At least one of the connecting elements is a fin that has an extension along an outer circumferential width, and an extension along an inner circumferential width. A section taken along a section plane having a radial and circumferential direction, section made by passing through a mean air flow point which runs through a gap, where the outer circumferential width is greater than the inner circumferential width.

A braking band has a first plate and an opposite second plate having inner surfaces delimiting a gap, outer surfaces forming braking surfaces, and a plate body. The plates are joined by connecting elements. At least one plate has at least one ridge projecting into the gap without reaching the opposite plate. The ridge extends from a first connecting element to an adjacent connecting element, and along a circumferential direction, the connecting elements and the ridge being groupable in modules circumferentially distributed along the gap. A first module has three adjacent connecting elements connected by two ridges projecting from the first plate into the gap without reaching the second plate. A second module has three adjacent connecting elements connected by two ridges projecting from the second plate into the gap without reaching the first plate. A third module has at least one connecting element free of ridge connection.

Some pin elements may have a substantially circular cross section, forming a circumference-shaped edge. Other pin elements may have a substantially rhomboidal cross section, forming a symmetric rhombus-shaped edge with respect to a radial direction and a circumferential direction orthogonal to this radial direction. Yet other pin elements may have a substantially circular cross section, forming a circumference-shaped edge.

A ventilated brake disc is provided which comprises a braking band defined by two plates co-axial with facing surfaces from which connection elements are axially extended. Each connection element has two respective ends at which the element is joined to the plates. Several of the connection elements are associated to elongate crests which extend from their ends in one or more given directions. The elongate crests are integrally formed with the connection elements and plates, and are raised from the facing surfaces of the plates.

An assembly comprises a flange and a disc, wherein the disc has a brake band and a drum, said drum having an outer drum surface, said drum being suitable for receiving a bearing inside said drum, said disc being arranged between the bearing and said flange, and wherein the flange comprises an inner ring coupled with the disc and an outer ring able to be coupled with a wheel rim, said flange also comprising an intermediate portion having flange through openings defined by an opening edge, said opening edge comprises a radially most inner edge portion, wherein at least one portion of the outer surface of the drum of the disc is arranged radially outside of the edge portion of the flange opening arranged most radially inside.

Discs for disc brakes arranged around a rotational axis, comprising: a braking band and a drum, said drum comprising an edge arranged radially outside a portion for connecting the drum to a hub, said drum further comprising a drum body connecting said edge to the braking band and being suitable to create an interspace between the drum and the hub accommodated therein, said edge delimiting at least one opening with communicates the interspace present between the drum body and the hub with the external of the drum, said opening being arranged radially outside said housing for the hub, and said openings delimited by walls having at least one section inclined with respect to the axial direction are provided.

Brake discs with bell

A disc for a disc brake of the ventilated type comprising a braking band () defined by two plates (), which are co-axial to an axis, which are mutually facing and spaced to provide an interspace. The plates have facing surfaces () from which elements () for the connection of the same plates transversally extend. Such facing surfaces define, together with the connecting elements, inside the interspace, ventilation ducts in order to cool the disc. The disc () comprises a plurality of projections () protruding from both facing surfaces of the two plates (). The projections are circumferentially arranged only in proximity of the outer edges of the plates in correspondence of the outlet of the ventilation ducts. Each projection () of a plate () is opposed to and aligned with a projection () of the other plate () along a direction parallel to the axis.

Brake band () of a disc for a ventilated disc brake, unusually capable of reducing braking whistling, extends between an inner diameter (D), close to a rotation axis (X-X) of the brake band (), and an outer diameter (D), far from said rotation axis (X-X) of the disc, said brake band () comprising two plates () facing one another and defining a gap (), comprising two plates () being joined together by heat dissipation and connection means or elements (), said connection means () being shaped like small columns that project from one plate towards the opposite plate in the form of pins () remaining inside said gap (), said pins () being grouped in at least two rows or tiers () arranged circumferentially. Some of the pins () arranged in said second tier (or) having a section shaped like a rhombus or diamond with four vertices joined by four sides in which said sides defining said section are substantially rectilinear in shape.
