A battery cell includes a shell, an electrode assembly, and a first insulating member. The shell has an opening and a bottom wall opposite to the opening. The electrode assembly is accommodated in the shell. The first insulating member is used for separating the electrode assembly and the bottom wall. The first insulating member is provided with a first through hole, and projections of the electrode assembly and the first through hole on the bottom wall partially overlap or do not overlap in a thickness direction of the bottom wall.

A part of the end cover inserted into the housing includes an end surface and a first side surface. The end surface is substantially perpendicular to an insertion direction of the end cover. The first side surface is distributed along a periphery of the end surface and is opposite to an inner wall surface of the housing.

A plurality of notches are provided on an inner side of the end portion of the casing or on a side wall of the inserting portion facing the casing. In the secondary battery, the battery module, and the device using the secondary battery as a power source according to the present disclosure, the secondary battery can reduce the possibility of short circuit occurring in the electrode assembly and improve the operational safety of the secondary battery.
