Disclosed is a force applying device for orthodontic treatment being elastically expandable and configured to generate a restoring force as an orthodontic force for an orthodontic treatment when compressed. The force applying device comprises a first element and a second element capable of moving relative to each other along a first axis. The force applying device for orthodontic treatment is compressed when the first and second elements move towards each other along the first axis. A first arm extends laterally from a first end of the first element away from the second element. A first connecting part of a first connector is fitted over the first arm. A second connecting part of the first connector is to be fitted over a button fixed on a first jaw to connect the first element to the first jaw. Both the first and the second connecting parts are toroidal in shape.

This disclosure provides a solution for improving performance in a virtual machine. In this method, a platform independent intermediate representation of a code segment in an application is obtained from a first virtual machine which is operating on a first platform. The platform independent intermediate representation is generated through a run-time compilation by the first virtual machine. Native code is generated based on the platform independent intermediate representation, in which at least one piece of the native code corresponds to a second platform which is different from the first platform. The at least one piece of the native code is distributed to a second virtual machine which is operating on the second platform.

A method, computer program product and/or computer system assigns access to a quorum disk in a split-storage cluster environment when a communication link between storage systems fails. Access to the quorum disk is based on storage system I/O performance. Priority is given to the storage system that has a higher performance before the link failure. When the communication link fails, both storage systems attempt to access the quorum disk. If the system that first attempts to access the quorum disk is the non-priority storage system, a timer is started. If the priority system attempts to access the quorum disk within a predetermined time interval, the priority system locks the quorum disk and forms the cluster. If the priority system does not attempt to access the quorum disk within the predetermined time interval, the non-priority system locks the quorum disk and forms the cluster.

The present invention relates to a supported polymetal olefin polymerization catalyst, comprising a porous support, a magnesium-containing support component, a transition metal titanium component supported on the porous support, and further comprising at least one non-magnesium metal component supported on the porous support. Further provided is a preparation method and a use of the supported polymetal olefin polymerization catalyst. An efficient composite support supported polymetal Ziegler-Natta catalyst is provided in the present invention, wherein a porous support, a soluble magnesium compound, and a soluble non-magnesium metal compound are used as raw materials. The supporting of titanium is achieved while a composite support containing magnesium and non-magnesium metal components is formed in situ in the surface of the porous support. The present invention has the advantage of a simple preparation method, a low cost, a controllability of morphology, properties of the catalyst, etc. Comparing the provided catalyst with the same type of magnesium/titanium catalyst free of non-magnesium metal components, the catalytic performance such as polymerization activity, hydrogen regulation sensitivity and copolymerization performance are significantly improved.

The present invention relates to a carriered hybrid vanadium-chromium-based catalyst, characterized in the catalyst is carriered on a porous inorganic carrier and a V active site and an organic Cr active site are present on the porous inorganic carrier at the same time. The present invention further relates to a process for producing a carriered hybrid vanadium-chromium-based catalyst. The catalyst of the present invention can be used for producing ethylene homopolymers and ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymers. The hybrid vanadium-chromium-based catalyst can have high activity and produce polyethylene polymers having the properties of broad molecular weight distribution (Part of the products are bimodal distribution) and excellent &#x3b1;-olefin copolymerization characteristic.
