A device includes a tubular endoprosthesis () and a hollow prop () provided in the vicinity of a distal end with at least one transverse retaining opening (A). The device includes a releasable retaining member (). It also includes filamentary line (A) which forms an eyelet () around the retaining member (), and a tightening loop () around the endoprosthesis (), and which includes traction means () extending the tightening loop (). The traction means () extend at least as far as a control end in the vicinity of a proximal and of the prop () and can be moved relative to the prop () towards the distal end of the prop () to a position in which the endoprosthesis () is in an expanded state. The invention is applicable to releasing endoprostheses in a blood vessel.

Device for treating a blood vessel and a method of preparing the device

A device includes an expandable implant and a hollow stent internally defining a central passage. The hollow stent defines a retention opening of the implant near the distal end thereof. The inventive device also includes a wire-type link for releasably fixing the implant to the stent, which has a traction section introduced into the opening and extending inside the central passage. For the wire-type link, the device includes an internal insulation channel arranged in the central passage and axially fixed with respect to the stent. The insulation channel receives only one wire-type link and defines a channel which is devoid of a link at least between the proximal end of the stent and the retention opening and is placed in the central channel.

Device for treating a blood vessel

An expandable stent comprising a tubular body made up of a plurality of separated tubular elements () arranged along a common longitudinal axis. Each tubular element () comprises a plurality of rhombic-shaped closed cell elements () joined by circumferentially extending linking members (). The closed cell elements () are expandable to allow the tubular elements, and hence the stent itself, to expand. In the direction of the longitudinal axis of the stent, the extremities of each of the closed cell elements has an enlarged loop () with waisted portions () which allow the tubular elements to interlock to create a stable structure, at least when in the unexpanded condition.
