A network switch apparatus, includes: a network port configured to receive a packet; instrument ports configured to communicate with respective network monitoring instruments; a packet duplication module configured to copy the packet to provide multiple packets that are identical to each other: a tagging module configured to tag the multiple packets with different respective identifiers to obtain tagged packets; and a processing unit coupled to the instrument ports; wherein the processing unit is configured to determine whether a first one of the tagged packets satisfies a first criterion, whether a second one of the tagged packets satisfies a second criterion, process the first one of the tagged packets in a first manner if the first one of the tagged packets satisfies the first criterion, and process the second one of the tagged packets in a second manner if the second one of the tagged packets satisfies the second criterion.

A method of configuring a network component includes providing a plurality of templates, each of which is selectable for configuring the network component, wherein each of the templates has a set of available attributes associated thereto and includes a plurality of entry groups, each of the entry groups including a plurality of entries for allowing network processing rules that involve one or more of the attributes to be entered. The method also includes receiving an input regarding a desired attribute to be considered in a network process, and selecting one of the templates for configuring the network component based on the received input, wherein the act of selecting is performed automatically using a processor.

A method of packet processing includes receiving a packet at one of a plurality of network ports at a switch device, tagging the packet with a first identification, tagging the packet with a second identification, using a first table to determine a first set of output port identifications based at least in part on the first identification, using a second table to determine a second set of output port identifications based at least in part on the second identification, and performing a logical operation using the first set of output port identifications and the second set of output port identifications to identify one or more of a plurality of output ports at the switch device.

Systems and methods for packet filtering and switching

This invention provides novel fuel cell electrodes and catalysts comprising a series of catalytically active thin-film metal alloys with low platinum concentration supported on nanostructured materials (nanoparticles). Processing of the electrodes and catalysts can include electrodeposition methods, and high-pressure coating techniques. In certain embodiments, an integrated gas-diffusion/electrode/catalyst layer can be prepared by processing catalyst thin films and nanoparticles into gas-diffusion media such as Toray or SGL carbon fiber papers. The catalysts can be placed in contact with an electrolyte membrane for PEM fuel cell applications.

Low platinum fuel cells, catalysts, and method for preparing the same

Novel phosphor systems are disclosed having the formula ASiO:EuD, where A is at least one of a divalent metal selected from the group consisting of Sr, Ca, Ba, Mg, Zn, and Cd; and D is a dopant selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br, I, P, S, N, and B. In one embodiment, the novel phosphor has the formula (SrBaM)SiO:EuF (where M is one of Ca, Mg, Zn, or Cd in an amount ranging from 0&#x3c;y&#x3c;0.5). The phosphor is configured to absorb visible light from a blue LED, and luminescent light from the phosphor plus light from the blue LED may be combined to form white light. The novel phosphors can emit light at intensities greater than either conventionally known YAG compounds, or silicate-based phosphors that do not contain the inventive dopant ion.

Silicate-based yellow-green phosphors

Novel two-phase yellow phosphors are disclosed having a peak emission intensity at wavelengths ranging from about 555 nm to about 580 nm when excited by a radiation source having a wavelength ranging from 220 nm to 530 nm. The present phosphors may be represented by the formula a[Sr(M1)]SiO.(1-a)[Sr(M2)]SiO:EuD, wherein M1 and M2 are at least one of a divalent metal such as Ba, Mg, Ca, and Zn, the values of a, x, y, z and u follow the following relationships: 0.6&#x2266;a&#x2266;0.85; 0.3&#x2266;x&#x2266;0.6; 0.85&#x2266;y&#x2266;1; 1.5&#x2266;z&#x2266;2.5; 2.6&#x2266;u&#x2266;3.3; and Eu and D each range from 0.001 to about 0.5. D is an anion selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br, S, and N, and at least some of the D anion replaces oxygen in the host silicate lattice of the phosphor. The present yellow phosphors have applications in high brightness white LED illumination systems, LCD display panels, plasma display panels, and yellow LEDs and illumination systems.

Novel green phosphors are disclosed having the comprise silicate-based compounds having the formula (Sr,A)(Si,A)(O,A):Eu, where Ais at least one divalent cation (a 2+ ion) including Mg, Ca, Ba, or Zn, or a combination of 1+ and 3+ cations; Ais a 3+, 4+, or 5+ cation, including at least one of B, Al, Ga, C, Ge, N, and P; Ais a 1&#x2212;, 2&#x2212;, or 3&#x2212; anion, including F, Cl, Br, and S; and x is any value between 1.5 and 2.5, both inclusive. The formula is written to indicate that the Acation replaces Sr; the Acation replaces Si, and the Aanion replaces O. These green phosphors are configured to emit visible light having a peak emission wavelength greater than about 480 nm. They have applications in green illumination systems, red-green-blue backlighting systems, white LEDs, and plasma display panels (PDPs).

Novel phosphor systems for a white LED are disclosed. The phosphor systems are excited by a non-visible to near-UV radiation source having an excitation wavelength ranging from about 250 to 420 nm. The phosphor system may comprise one phosphor, two phosphors, and may include optionally a third and even a fourth phosphor. In one embodiment of the present invention, the phosphor is a two phosphor system having a blue phosphor and a yellow phosphor, wherein the long wavelength end of the blue phosphor is substantially the same wavelength as the short wavelength end of the yellow phosphor. Alternatively, there may be a wavelength gap between the yellow and blue phosphors. The yellow phosphor may be phosphate or silicate-based, and the blue phosphor may be silicate or aluminate-based. Single phosphor systems excited by non-visible radiation are also disclosed. In other embodiments of present invention, a single phosphor is used to produce white light illumination, the single phosphor having a broad emission spectrum with a peak intensity ranging from about 520 to 560 nm.

Phosphor systems for a white light emitting diode (LED)

Novel aluminate-based green phosphors are disclosed having the formula MEuMgMnAlO; where 0.1&#x3c;x&#x3c;1.0; 0.1&#x3c;y&#x3c;1.0; 0.2&#x3c;x+y&#x3c;2.0; and 2&#x2266;z&#x2266;14; wherein M is selected from the group consisting of Ba, Sr, Ca, and Zn; and wherein the phosphor is configured to absorb UV and visible radiation having a wavelength ranging from about 220 to 440 nm, and emit visible green light having a wavelength ranging from about 500 to 550 nm. A novel feature of the present aluminate-based green phosphors is the relatively narrow range of wavelength over which they can be configured to emit; in one embodiment, this range is from about 518 nm to 520 nm. In an alternative embodiment, the phosphor emits visible light with a peak wavelength having a full width at half maximum of less than or equal to about 40 nm in some embodiments, and 80 nm in other embodiments.

Aluminate-based green phosphors

Disclosed herein are phosphor compositions comprising a BAM phosphor BaMgAlO:Euand at least one other hexaaluminate that may also be europium activated. The BAM may be mixed with any number of different kinds of heaxaaluminates having a similar crystal structure. The aluminum ratio may also be adjusted to alter the defect structure or to produce a second phase. Addition of another hexaaluminate to BAM enhances emission intensity and resistance to degradation, which is beneficial to applications such as plasma display panels.

Novel metal oxide compositions are disclosed. These ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic compositions have resitivities that vary between those of semiconducting and insulating materials, and they further exhibit Curie temperatures greater than room temperature (i.e., greater than 300 K). They are perovskite structures with the general chemical formulas (AM)BO, (AM)(B'B&#x2033;)Oor A(BM)O, where A can be a 1, 2and 3charged ion; B can be a 5, 4, 3charged ion; B&#x2032; and B&#x2033; can be 2, 3, 4, 5and 6charged ion. M is a magnetic ion dopant. X-ray diffraction patterns are presented for exemplary compositions.
