Assay systems including assay apparatus and handheld assay devices for use therewith for obtaining diagnostic information of a bodily specimen. Assay devices include a cartridge housing snugly accommodating a specimen slide intended for elevation from an initial lowermost specimen introduction position to a final uppermost specimen examination position in which a bodily specimen is compressed between a cartridge housing top face and a specimen slide. Assay devices preferably include a liquid reagent dispensing arrangement for dispensing liquid reagent on a specimen slide for reacting with a bodily specimen.

Assay system including assay apparatus and handheld single use assay devices for use therewith

Assay system including assay apparatus and handheld single use assay devices for ElectroMagnetic Radiation (EMR) examination of a specimen. The assay devices include a housing, a specimen slide for elevation from an initial lowermost specimen introduction position to a final uppermost specimen examination position and a built-in liquid reagent dispensing arrangement for dispensing liquid reagent on the specimen slide. The assay apparatus automatically actuates an assay device and includes an imaging arrangement for obtaining specimen images.

Assay apparatus for use with a handheld specimen collection tool having an elongated specimen collection tip for bearing bodily specimen therealong. The assay apparatus includes a drum having a transparent, generally cylindrical, hollow drum body with a horizontal longitudinal drum body centerline, an internal drum body surface and an external drum body surface and a backlight illuminator for backlighting the drum body. The assay apparatus includes an elongated specimen collection tube for snug sliding insertion of the elongated specimen collection tip thereinto for depositing bodily specimen on the drum body and an elongated scanner for scanning the backlighted drum body for acquiring a bodily specimen scan.

Liquid transfer devices based on commonly owned WIPO International Publication No. WO 2007/052252 entitled Needleless Additive Control Valve. The liquid transfer devices include either an integral vial adapter and/or an integral infusion set for reducing cost and facilitating use by reducing user steps.

Travel sleeping aids for assisting a seated traveler to sleep in a forward leaning seated position toward a passenger seat in front of the seated traveler, the passenger seat having a headrest. In one implementation, a travel sleeping aid includes a U-shaped head support having a face contoured aperture for supporting the seated traveler's head in a forward leaning seated position and a support structure rotatable with respect to the U-shaped head support between a storage position flush with the U-shaped head support and a head support position generally perpendicular to the U-shaped head support. In another embodiment, a hanging travel sleeping aid includes a generally rectangular shaped head support having a passenger seat headrest pocket for being snugly placed on a passenger seat's headrest in front of a seated traveler and a head support panel for supporting the seated traveler's head in his forward leaning seated position.

Liquid drug transfer devices with universal drug vial adapters for use with a drug vial of a small drug vial and a large drug vial. Some universal drug vial adapters employ the same generally opposite upright flex members for clamping a small drug vial and a large drug vial. Other universal drug vial adapters include a set of minor flex members for clamping a small drug vial and a set of major flex members encircling the set of minor flex members for clamping a large drug vial whereupon the large drug vial underlies the set of minor flex members. Liquid drug transfer devices with a universal injection port connector for attachment on an injection port of an infusion bag.

Medical devices including a vial adapter with an inline dry drug module for use with a vial, a needleless syringe and a carrier liquid for filling the needleless syringe with an injection solution for injection to a patient. The inline dry drug modules include a dry drug storage component for storing a dry drug dosage and a uniform carrier liquid distribution component for promoting uniform contact of the dry drug storage component by the carrier liquid to form an injection solution from the dry drug dosage. The inline dry drug modules can include a discrete dry drug storage component and a discrete uniform carrier liquid distribution component or a dual purpose component for both drug storage and uniform carrier liquid distribution. The vial adapters can be provided in vented or non-vented versions.

A drug container closure for mounting on an open-topped drug container to form a ready-to-use drug reconstitution assemblage for use with a needleless syringe. The drug container closure includes a drug container stopper for sealing the drug container and a fluid transfer member with an integral needleless syringe connector and a puncturing cannula. The fluid transfer member is manually disposed along a diametric inverted L-shaped track pair from an initial non-puncturing position to a puncturing position. The inverted L-shaped track pair includes one-way snap members to prevent a user returning the fluid transfer member to an earlier position and indicating progress of the user activation.

Drug container closure for mounting on open-topped drug container to form drug reconstitution assemblage for use with needleless syringe

Liquid drug transfer devices employing manual rotation of a drug vial adapter with respect to a liquid container adapter for dual flow communication step actuation for establishing flow communication between a liquid container containing liquid contents and an initially intact, namely, non-punctured, drug vial. Manual rotation compacts a liquid drug transfer device along a longitudinal device axis for urging a puncturing tip through a drug vial stopper during a drug vial flow communication step for flow communication with a drug vial interior. Manual rotation also executes a liquid container flow communication step for flow communication with a liquid container, therefore establishing flow communication between a drug vial and a liquid container.
