A saw gear set comprising a set of saw blades and a saw drive (), wherein each saw blade of the set is configured to be coupled to the saw drive () by means of a coupling mechanism (), which coupling mechanism () is configured to transmit a driving force of the saw drive () to the saw blade in a force transmission point, for oscillating the saw blade around a pivot axis (). Each saw blade of the set is configured to be pivotably borne around the pivot axis (). In operation, an oscillation angle (α) around the pivot axis () is different for each saw blade of the set depending on a pivot distance between the pivot axis () and the force transmission point which varies for each saw blade of the set.

Systems and apparatus for reliably sealing a surgical device are disclosed herein. Specifically, a surgical device including a drive shaft tube that is coupled to a drive shaft is disclosed. Because the drive shaft tube is coupled to the drive shaft, the drive shaft tube rotates at the same rotational speed as the drive shaft, which is less than the rotational speed of a cannulated motor shaft. The drive shaft tube can extend through the cannulated motor shaft. In addition, a sealing member can be provided to seal between the drive shaft tube (which rotates slowly) and the motor instead of between the motor shaft (which rotates more quickly) and the motor. The sealing member can be provided in a gap defined between an outer surface of a portion of the drive shaft tube extending beyond the cannulated motor shaft and the motor.

Methods and devices are provided for using a bone anchor driver for driving inner and outer set closure mechanisms or set screws into a bone anchor assembly. In one embodiment, a bone anchor driver is provided that includes an outer shaft configured to engage an outer set screw coupled to a bone anchor assembly, an inner shaft disposed within the outer shaft and configured to engage an inner set screw coupled to the bone anchor assembly, and a torque limiting mechanism configured to automatically switch between a first position in which it is disengaged from the inner shaft and is engaged with the outer shaft, and a second position in which it is disengaged from the outer shaft and is engaged with the inner shaft.

Bone anchor driver and methods

A distal targeting device for a surgical instrument includes a field generator having a coupling element configured to receive a shaft that is elongate along an axis and a bridge connectable to the field generator so as to be spaced from the field generator in a proximal direction with respect to the axis. The bridge includes an attachment device that is connectable to a tool that is configured to manipulate the shaft. The bridge also includes a pair of arms configured to clasp a body of the tool in a manner substantially rigidly coupling the bridge to the tool. At least one of the arms is positionable with respect to the attachment member at a distance that is adjustable so as to enable the arms to substantially rigidly clasp tool bodies having one or more of various shapes and sizes.
