A device to perform location-based audio signal compensation includes a memory configured to store instructions and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to execute the instructions to receive an audio input signal corresponding to sound received from a second device, determine position data indicative of a position of the device, and generate, based on the audio input signal, a compensation filter to be applied to an audio playback signal prior to playout from the second device, to at least partially compensate for distortion associated with sound propagation from the second device to the position of the device.

Method and apparatus for location-based audio signal compensation

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for manipulating a soundfield are presented. Some configurations include receiving a bitstream that comprises metadata and a soundfield description; parsing the metadata to obtain an effect identifier and at least one effect parameter value; and applying, to the soundfield description, an effect identified by the effect identifier. The applying may include using the at least one effect parameter value to apply the identified effect to the soundfield description.

The one or more processors are further configured to select, based on a latency criterion associated with a playback device, a compression mode in which a representation of the sound information is compressed prior to transmission to the playback device or a bypass mode in which the representation of the sound information is not compressed prior to transmission to the playback device. The one or more processors are further configured to generate audio data that includes, based on the selected one of the compression mode or the bypass mode, a compressed representation of the sound information or an uncompressed representation of the sound information. The one or more processors are also configured to send the audio data as streaming data, via wireless transmission, to the playback device.

The one or more processors are configured to perform signal processing operations associated with three-dimensional (3D) sound data based on the particular filter.

3D sound orientation adaptability

A device includes one or more processors configured to receive, via wireless transmission from a playback device, data associated with a pose of the playback device. The one or more processors are also configured to select, based on the data, a particular representation of a sound field from a plurality of representations of the sound field. Each respective representation of the sound field corresponds to a different sector of a set of sectors. A sector represents a range of values associated with movement of the playback device. A device includes one or more processors configured to receive, via wireless transmission from a streaming device, encoded ambisonics audio data representing a sound field. The one or more processors are also configured to perform decoding of the ambisonics audio data to generate decoded ambisonics audio data. The decoding of the ambisonics audio data includes base layer decoding of a base layer of the encoded ambisonics audio data and selectively includes enhancement layer decoding in response to an amount of movement of the device. Disclosed are techniques and devices which include a memory configured to store audio data within a first audio zone, or a second audio zone in a layered soundfield. The memory is coupled to one or more processors and the memory is configured to store the audio data in the first audio zone and the second audio data in the layered soundfield. The one or more processors are configured to receive an interaction command to control the audio data in the first audio zone and the second audio zone in the layered soundfield, and generate one or more indicators that the interaction command was received to control the audio data, in the first audio zone or the second audio zone of the layered soundfield.

One or more processors may obtain a first distance between a first audio zone of the two or more audio zones associated with the one or more interest points within the first audio zone, and a first device position of a device, obtain a second distance between a second audio zone of the two or more audio zones associated with the one or more interest points within the second audio zone, and the first device position of the device, and obtain an updated first distance and updated second distance after movement of the device has changed from the first device position to a second device position. Rendering audio data from independently controlled audio zones

A method includes performing, at a processor, signal processing operations on signals captured by each microphone in a microphone array. The method also includes performing a first directivity adjustment by applying a first set of multiplicative factors to the signals to generate a first set of ambisonic signals. The first set of multiplicative factors is determined based on a position of each microphone in the microphone array, an orientation of each microphone in the microphone array, or both.

System and method for mixing and adjusting multi-input ambisonics

Analysis of the audio component in multimedia data is disclosed. Rooms can be described through room impulse responses (RIR), the 'fingerprint' of a specific room. The method uses machine learning techniques to identify rooms from ordinary audio recordings.
