Method and apparatus for dynamometer testing of a motor vehicle

A method for use in dynamometer testing of a vehicle having a steering mechanism for changing steering angle of at a wheel hub connected to a first wheel shaft is provided. The method includes to apply a torque to the first wheel shaft using a first controllable dynamometer power source of a vehicle dynamometer test unit being rigidly connected to the wheel hub. A change of steering angle of the wheel hub rotates the rigidly connected first dynamometer test unit. An external force acting on the dynamometer test unit is applied to influence the force required by the vehicle steering mechanism to change steering angle of the wheel hub when changing steering angle of the wheel hub.

Method and system for use in dynamometer testing of a motor vehicle

A vehicle dynamometer system for dynamometer testing of a vehicle, comprises at least one dynamometer test unit having a power source, the power source comprising an output shaft arranged for, in use, rotation with a vehicle wheel shaft, the system further comprising an adapter plate, said adapter plate comprising fasteners for allowing fixed connection to a wheel hub of a wheel shaft being tested, said adapter plate further comprising fasteners for allowing fixed connection of the adapter plate to the output shaft of said dynamometer test unit to thereby connect the output shaft of the dynamometer test unit to said wheel shaft. The adapter plate is designed such that, when fixedly connected to said wheel hub but disconnected from said dynamometer test unit, said adapter plate is arranged to support the vehicle to allow relocation of said vehicle while supported by said adapter plate.

Method and device for dynamometer testing of a motor vehicle

The present invention relates to a system for dynamometer testing of motor vehicles. The system includes a cooling device for cooling a braking device and/or a power-generating arrangement, such as the engine of a car. The system is arranged to, using the braking device, absorb power applied thereto by the power-generating arrangement. The cooling device includes a fan arrangement for producing an air stream, the air stream being intended to be directed towards the braking device and/or the power-generating arrangement and/or a heat exchanger for providing a cooling effect. The fan arrangement includes two substantially axially aligned fans, and the cooling device is arranged to rotate the fans in opposite directions relative to each other. The present invention relates to a regulating device () for control of flow and/or pressure, including a housing () enclosing a movable inner member () which is provided with a passage corresponding to the housing inlet. The inlet comprises at least two ports () which are spaced apart with a circumferentially equal distance, and the passage comprises apertures () positioned correspondingly.
