A fabric filter () has at least a first compartment () and a second compartment (). A hopper () is adapted for fluidisation of dust collected in the compartments () to form a bed () of fluidised dust. A partition wall () is located between the compartments () to separate them from each other. A passage () is formed at a lower end () of the partition wall () such that fluidised dust may pass through said passage (). The partition wall () is arranged to extend into the bed () of fluidised dust for forming a seal () even when one of the compartments () has been shut off. When shutting off a compartment () the inlets and outlets to that compartment () are closed and the dust in the hopper () is fluidised to provide a seal () between the compartments ().

Fabric filter with fluidised dust-bed, and a method of maintaining it

In a method of separating gaseous pollutants from hot process gases, the process gases are passed through a contact reactor (), in which an absorbent material in a moistened state is introduced to convert the gaseous pollutants into separable dust. The dust is separated in a dust separator (). The separated dust is cooled in a first step by being brought into direct contact with a cooling fluid. In a second step, the cooled dust is mixed with a gas containing water vapour, said gas having a saturation temperature that is higher than the temperature of the cooled dust. The dust moistened by condensation of the water vapour is introduced into the contact reactor () to be mixed with the process gases. A mixer () for moistening of absorbent material has a first end () and a second end () and is divided into two zones. A first zone is a cooling zone () located at the first end (). A second zone is a moistening zone () located at the second end ().

Method and device for separating gaseous pollutants from hot process gases by absorption and a mixer for moistening particulate dust

A method and an apparatus for cleaning flue gases with particulate slaked lime are described. In the method, burnt lime is dry-slaked with water to a moisture content of at least 5% by weight, and the slaked lime is contacted with the flue gases within 1 minute of the slaking. Preferably, the slaked lime is mixed with recirculated powdered lime from the flue gas cleaning before contacting it with the flue gases. The apparatus for dry-slaking of slaked lime comprises a feeding end for feeding burnt lime and, a discharge end for discharging slaked lime, a device for adding water, and mixers between the feeding and the discharge end, and the apparatus is characterized in that it comprises between the feeding end and the discharge end a first section and a second section which are separated by a first overflow edge, the sections comprising mixers which have rotatable horizontal shafts extending in the transverse direction of the apparatus, for mixing and feeding of burnt lime and water in the longitudinal direction of the apparatus from the feeding end towards the first overflow edge and from the first overflow edge towards a second overflow edge which is arranged at the discharge end.

Method and apparatus for cleaning flue gases

A device for mixing particulate material and liquid includes a container, an inlet for the introduction of particulate material into the container, a liquid spraying device for spraying liquid over the particulate material in the container, a disc agitator arranged in the container, and an outlet for discharging material mixed with liquid from the container. A fluidization device is provided to fluidize the particulate material in the container during the mixing operation. The inlet is arranged at one lengthwise side wall of the container, so as to extend along that wall. The outlet is arranged in the other lengthwise side wall, so as to extend along the wall.
