It is suggested to detect a single wire interruption (SWI) of a line comprising two wires, wherein such line is part of a vectoring group, comprising (i) determining a capacitance between the single wires of the line; and (ii) determining whether a single wire interruption is present based on the determined capacitance.

Detecting a single wire interruption

A method for operating a first access service depends on the presence of a second access service. The method includes conducting at least one measurement by the first access service and determining based on the at least one measurement whether or not a power spectral density used by the first access service is adjusted.

Operating an access service

A method, system, computer program product, and a device for testing are provided. In some implementations, a method includes the steps of (i) conducting a line test on a line of a line card that is not connected to a subscriber line; (ii) comparing the result of the test with a predetermined result; and (iii) determining a defect of the test hardware if the result deviates from the predetermined result. Furthermore, a device and a communication system comprising said device are suggested.
