There is provided a method in a serving node of an information centric network, the method comprising: receiving an interest message referring to a first content object from a requesting node; processing the name of the first content object and the payload of the received interest message to generate the name of a second content object; and replying to the interest message with a redirect message, wherein the redirect message comprises the name of the second content object.

Request redirection in an information centric network

Methods and apparatus for enabling upgrading of a television (TV) device that is connectable to an internet protocol TV (IPTV) system including an operator system and a TV manufacturer system are described. The upgrading is based on a token object and verifies a requested upgrading of the TV device. A token object is generated at the TV manufacturer system in response to receiving a request for upgrading from the TV device, and delivered to the TV device, thus enabling the TV device to complete the requested upgrading process due to possessing a valid token. A TV device, an operator system, and a TV manufacturer system adapted to execute the suggested methods are also provided.

IPTV devices and methods adapted for such devices

A system and method for signaling timing and content of personalized ads to a hybrid terminal via a television broadcast/multicast network. The currently-present ad insertion markers in the transport stream of the broadcast/multicast content are replaced by a Service Information, SI, table that contains information corresponding to the replaced markers. The table-containing transport stream is then delivered to the hybrid terminal. The SI table may include a manifest to signal upcoming time slots for advertising. The manifest may provide information about sources from which the hybrid terminal can fetch personalized advertisements and may also identify available time slots in the transport stream for inserting the fetched ads. To enable the hybrid terminal to present personalized advertisements to its viewer, the SI table may identify an Ad Decision Server, ADS, from which the hybrid terminal can request targeted ads for playback to the viewer watching a broadcast/multicast TV program.

End user-based personalized ad insertion in broadcast-broadband hybrid terminals

Disclosed is a DRM device and method for providing secure linking to a user identity. A first request is sent to a subscriber identity module. A message is received from the subscriber identity module via a secure authenticated channel. The message comprises at least a master key identifier, a random number, and a derived key. In response to the message, a second request is sent to a DRM server. The second request comprises at least a master key identifier, the device identifier, and a random number. Also disclosed is a DRM server and method for providing secure linking to a user identity. A first request is received from a DRM device. The first request comprises at least master key identifier, a device identifier, and a random number. The DRM device is authenticated. A second request for an application specific key is sent to a trusted key management server. The second request comprises at least a master key identifier. At least a key is received from the trusted key management server. A derived key is determined from the key received from the trusted key management server based at least on the device identifier and the random number. A challenge/response scheme is used to determine whether the derived key of the DRM server matches a derived key of the DRM device.

Method and apparatus for providing secure linking to a user identity in a digital rights management system

An IPTV group profile is dynamically generated based on individual IPTV user profiles, whenever a user joins or leaves a shared IPTV session at an IPTV Terminal Function (ITF). The IPTV group profile may be implemented as a modification to the IPTV user profile of each user. In one embodiment, a 'group' branch includes the additional access privileges and/or restrictions from the IPTV user profiles of other group members. The modified IPTV user profiles of users in the group are placed on a network entity such as an XDM Server (XDMS), to which the ITF subscribes via XCAP. As users join or leave a shared IPTV session at an ITF, the IPTV-AS updates the IPTV user profiles on the XDMS, which notifies the ITF of the changes. Each user's IPTV user profile at the ITF thus reflects group access privileges, preferences and restrictions for the duration of the shared IPTV session.
