Detecting user contact with one or more electrodes of a physiological signal sensor can be used to ensure physiological signals measured by the physiological signal sensor meet waveform characteristics (e.g., of a clinically accurate physiological signal). In some examples, a mobile and/or wearable device can comprise sensing circuitry, stimulation circuitry, and processing circuitry. The stimulation circuit can drive one or more stimulation signals on one or more electrodes, the resulting signal(s) can be measured (e.g., by the sensing circuitry), and the processing circuitry can determine whether a user is in contact with the electrode(s). Additionally or alternatively, in some examples, mobile and/or wearable device can comprise saturation detection circuitry, and the processing circuitry can determine whether the sensing circuitry is saturated.

Contact detection for physiological sensor

Galvanic corrosion of an external electrode of a physiological signal sensor (e.g., ECG sensor) can be reduced. In some examples, protective circuitry, such as a switching circuit, can be used to reduce galvanic corrosion. In a first mode of operation (e.g., corresponding to measurement by the physiological signal sensor), the switching circuit can provide a low-impedance path (e.g., from an external electrode to ground). In a second mode of operation (e.g., corresponding to non-measurement by the physiological sensing system), the switching circuit can provide a high-impedance path to reduce leakage currents (e.g., between the external electrode and ground), and thereby reduce galvanic corrosion.

Protective circuitry for external sensing applications

A wireless power transmitting device may transmit power wirelessly to a wireless power receiving device. The wireless power receiving device may be a portable electronic device with an array of wireless power receiving coils that receive wireless power from wireless power transmitting coils in the wireless power transmitting device. Each receiving coil in the array of wireless power receiving coils may be coupled to a respective rectifier. Control circuitry of the wireless power receiving device may be configured to determine which rectifiers to enable for synchronous rectification. The control circuitry may be configured to enable at least one rectifier based on the alternating-current voltages produced by each coil in the array of receiving coils. The control circuitry may also be configured to enable at least one rectifier based on the output current from each rectifier.

Rectifier arbitration in wireless charging systems

Methods, structures, and apparatus that are able to detect the presence of a connection to a device contact of an electronic device and are also able to detect the presence of contamination at the device contact. A host device includes a connection detection circuit and a contamination detection circuit connected to the device contact. The connection detection circuit includes a pull-up resistor that is pulled down by a pull-down resistor in an accessory device following a connection. The contamination detection circuit includes a current source to provide a current at the device contact and measurement circuitry to measure a resulting voltage.

Connection and corrosion detection

Provided is an apparatus, system, and method for stabilizing battery voltage of a battery device while optimizing power delivered to a receiver during communication of a broadcast packet. A logic circuit is configured to receive a broadcast packet having a predetermined number of bits for communication by a controller to a receiver located remotely from the controller, determine a number of cycles in which a sampled battery voltage is either greater than or less than or equal to a nominal battery voltage over a first subset of the predetermined number of bits of the broadcast packet and performs either a tune-up or a tune-down procedure based on the number of cycles counted in which the sampled battery voltage is not equal to the nominal battery voltage for more than one half of a total number of cycles counted.

Apparatus, system, and method to adaptively optimize power dissipation and broadcast power in a power source for a communication device

Various aspects of the present invention enable robust, reliable control functionality for effectors present on intraluminal, e.g., vascular leads, as well as other types of implantable devices.
