An instrument port for introducing an instrument into a surgical site includes a port body, a bulb disposed on the distal end of the port body, and a channel extending from a proximal end to a distal end of the instrument port. The channel includes an instrument channel defined in the port body and a bulb channel defined in the bulb. An imaging system is disposed at or near the distal end of the instrument port. The imaging system is fluidically isolated from the surgical site.

Instrument port with integrated imaging system

A device for performing intervention procedures includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end. The elongated body includes a hollow tool channel extending through the elongated body from the first end to the second end. The tool channel is configured to receive an intervention tool and a length-adjusting element disposed at the first end or the second end of the elongated body. The length-adjusting element is configured to enable a length of the elongated body to be adjusted. The elongated body includes an angle-adjusting element disposed along the length of the elongated body. The angle-adjusting element is configured to enable the elongated body to be bent. The device includes an imaging system disposed at the first end or the second end of the elongated body. The imaging system includes an imaging device and an illumination device.

Interventional device with adjustable configuration

A tissue clip for adjoining tissues including a body portion, a biasing mechanism interconnecting the body portion to a tissue grasping mechanism, the grasping mechanism having a first condition wherein the grasping mechanism is extending against and away from the body portion and a second condition wherein the grasping mechanism is biased against the body portion. A tissue clip and deployer combination. A method of interconnecting tissue by deploying the tissue clip, puncturing tissue to be interconnected with the tissue clip, and interconnecting the tissue. A method of treating an aneurism by deploying the tissue clip at an aneurism site, closing off the aneurism site with the tissue clip, and treating the aneurism. A method of imaging a surgical procedure with ultrasound by modifying a surface of a metal surgical instrument, and imaging the metal surgical instrument with ultrasound during a surgical procedure.

Tissue clip

An implantable, autonomously growing medical device is disclosed. The device may have an outer, braided outer element that holds an inner core. Degradation and/or softening of the inner core permits the outer element to elongate, allowing the device to grow with surrounding tissue. The growth profile of the medical device can be controlled by altering the shape/material/cure conditions of the inner core, as well as the geometry of the out element.

Autonomously growing implantable device

Methods and apparatuses relate to an implantable device for providing contractile assistance to an organ. The device may include an actuator and anchors located on either side of the actuator. The anchors engage with oppositely positioned tissue walls of an organ chamber, and provide contractile assistance to the organ, repeatedly, at appropriate times. For example, the device may be implanted within the right ventricle, anchored to the right ventricular free wall and the ventricular septum. The device may function to bring the opposing walls of the ventricle toward one another, synchronized with the pacing of the heart, resulting in an improved ejection fraction of blood from the chamber. In some embodiments, the actuator includes a bladder that is configured to contract upon receiving an inflow of pressurized fluid therein. When the fluid exits therefrom, the bladder relaxes back to an initial, extended state.

Mechanical assist device

An instrument port for introducing instruments into a surgical site, including a port body having a channel running therethrough from a proximal end to a distal end, an instrument sleeve in slidable contact with the channel, creating a gap therebetween, and fluid flow for removing emboli efficiently from the instrument port, wherein the fluid flow includes the gap is provided. A fluid flow system for use in an instrument port is provided. A method of removably securing an instrument sleeve to a port body by anchoring the instrument port to heart tissue, making at least one flood line in a channel, flushing out emboli, and performing surgery with the instrument port.

A device for treating tricuspid regurgitation includes a shaft and a first fixation mechanism disposed on a distal end of the shaft. The first fixation mechanism is configured to anchor the device to a first cardiac tissue. The device includes a second fixation mechanism disposed on a proximal end of the shaft. The second fixation mechanism is configured to anchor the device to a second cardiac tissue. The device includes an approximation mechanism connecting the first fixation mechanism and the second fixation mechanism, wherein the approximation mechanism causes the second fixation mechanism to move along the shaft toward the first fixation mechanism to approximate the first cardiac tissue and the second cardiac tissue.

Right ventricular papillary approximation

The instrument ports for introducing instruments into a surgical site that are disclosed herein include a port body having a channel running therethrough from a proximal end to a distal end, an instrument sleeve in slidable contact with the channel, creating a gap therebetween, and a fluid flow element for removing emboli efficiently from the instrument port, wherein the fluid flow element includes the gap. Disclosed fluid flow systems are for use in the disclosed instrument ports. Methods are also disclosed for removably securing an instrument sleeve to a port body by anchoring the instrument port to heart tissue, making at least one flood line in a channel, flushing out emboli, and performing surgery with the instrument port.

The present invention relates generally to the field of micro-scale or millimeter scale devices and to the use of multi-layer multi-material electrochemical fabrication methods for producing such devices with particular embodiments relate to shredding devices and more particularly to shredding devices for use in medical applications. In some embodiments, tissue removal devices include tissue anchoring projections, improved blade configurations, and/or shields or shrouds around the cutting blades to inhibit outflow of tissue that has been brought into the device.
