A spinal interbody device, system and method can include use of an interbody cage and plate. The interbody cage can include at least one of a key and a keyway configured to mate with at least one of a mating keyway and key located on the plate. The key and keyway can be configured such that the cage and plate are quickly and easily attached and detached from each other, and such that positional relationship between the cage and plate can be arrived at quickly, accurately, and with tactile and/or audile notice to the practitioner.

Spinal interbody device, system and method

A spinal interbody device, system and method can include an interbody device configured to stabilize or otherwise support adjacent vertebrae. The interbody device can include a central opening and can be shaped as a trapezoid as viewed from a position on the central axis located above a superior or upper surface of the interbody device. In addition, the upper surface of the interbody device can include at least one keel or spike to facilitate locking of the interbody device with adjacent vertebrae. The at least one spike can be removable and can be adjustable relative to the superior or inferior surface(s) when installed.

The disclosed subject matter includes a fastener, a system and methods for use and manufacture. The fastener can include a head disposed at a proximal end of the fastener, a shaft connected to the head, and at least one of the head and the shaft can include a plurality of flat surfaces. A collar can extend about the longitudinal axis of the fastener and can have a proximal-most surface spaced in a longitudinal axis direction away from a proximal-most surface of the fastener. The collar can include a plurality of petals spaced about the longitudinal axis, each of the plurality of petals including a flat surface facing a respective one of the plurality of flat surfaces of the at least one of the head and the shaft. A plate and/or a cage can be included with the fastener for use in a spinal connection, kit or repair system.

Fastener, spinal interbody system including same and method

An implant device, system and method can include a top structure, a bottom structure, and an intermediary structure. The bottom structure can include a helical groove structure, and the intermediary structure can include at least one pin that cooperates with the helical groove structure such that the pin and the helical groove structure guide the intermediary structure in both a rotational direction about the central axis and an axial linear direction along the central axis. The bottom structure can also include a linear groove structure configured to guide the top structure in a linear motion with respect to the bottom structure when the intermediary structure is rotated with respect to the bottom structure.

Prosthesis, system and method

An intervertebral implant includes a first plate and a second plate that is configured to be moveably engaged with the first plate along an axis of translation. Each plate defines at least one hole or recess for receiving a fastener that is configured to be fastened to a respective vertebrae. In one embodiment, a toothed surface is defined on both the first plate and the second plate. The toothed surface of the first plate is configured for engaging the toothed surface of the second plate such that translation of the second plate with respect to the first plate is limited in a single direction along the axis of translation.

Standalone dynamic interbody

An implantable assembly includes an anchor member and a spacer. The anchor member has a hub portion and a shank portion. The spacer includes a central opening to receive bone fusion material and at least one passage for receiving the anchor member. In one embodiment, the passage includes first and second means for locking the anchor member in the passage against backout. The second means for locking the anchor member in the passage against backout includes means for centering the anchor member in the passage and means for stabilizing the anchor member in the passage. In addition, the second means for locking the anchor member in the passage against backout provides a mechanical advantage to assist in driving the screw into bone and mechanical advantage to assist in reversing the screw out of the spacer.

Standalone interbody fusion device with locking and release mechanism

A surgical tool includes a proximal end, a distal end and a longitudinal axis extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The surgical tool has a fastener engagement tip having a spring extension extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the surgical tool. The spring extension is resiliently flexible and deflectable between a first arrangement, in which the spring extension is in a relaxed state, and a second arrangement, in which the spring extension is deflected to facilitate insertion of the fastener engagement tip into a fastener slot.
