A method for operating a brake system of a motor vehicle, with a controllable brake booster, and with a brake pedal. In the method, the brake booster is controlled, as a function of an actuation of the brake pedal, to generate a hydraulic pressure in the brake system, the motor vehicle is monitored for a standstill of the motor vehicle, an actuation path of the brake pedal is monitored for an exceedance of a specified limit value, and a holding function for maintaining the hydraulic pressure present in the brake system is activated if a standstill and a limit value exceedance are detected. At least one state variable of the motor vehicle is ascertained and that the limit value is specified as a function of the at least one state variable.

Method for operating a brake system of a motor vehicle, control unit, brake system

A method for operating a braking force generator for a motor vehicle having a hydraulic braking system. The braking force generator, in a first working mode, builds up braking force independently, and in a second working mode, builds up braking force to assist the driver. A strategy for operating the braking force generator is adapted depending on a driving situation. A corresponding apparatus is also provided.

Apparatus and method for operating a braking force generator

A method for ascertaining an available fluid volume in a tank for brake fluid of a braking system. The braking system includes a pressure generator fluidically connected to the tank on the one hand and to at least one brake circuit on the other hand, which is activatable for generating a hydraulic pressure in the braking system as brake fluid is withdrawn from the tank. A drop below a predefined limiting value for a fill level of the brake fluid in the tank is monitored with the aid of a binary sensor assigned to the tank. It is provided that an actuation of the pressure generator is monitored and that the available fluid volume is ascertained as a function of the actuation of the pressure generator when the instantaneous fill level drops below the limiting value.
